Percy Walton - Race: Black - Percy Lavar Walton pled guilty to four counts of capital murder for the killings of three different people.  He was sentenced to death in 1997 for the murders of an elderly white couple, Elizabeth Hendrick, aged 81, and Jesse Hendrick, aged 80, and a 33-year-old black man, Archie Moore, in Danville in November 1996.  He has been on death row since October 31, 1997. Mr. Walton is the second severely mentally ill, African American man from Danville, Virginia to be sentenced to death.  - (crime) - (Black-on-White)

• Hmongland, Minnesota: Gang rape trials stall in court
  A year and a half after an unconscious 16-year-old girl was gang raped in a west end Winona apartment, three of the four people accused are still months away from trial as the court system determines whether the teens should be tried as adults. Sue “Acorn” Hang, accused of raping the girl with an empty Blatz beer can, goes to trial four months from now.  Stephen Michael “Shaggy” Eldridge was reclassified as an adult.
  Xee Thong Xiong, 18, of Winona also was certified as an adult this spring but has appealed this ruling, leaving the case hung up in the state appeals court.   A jury in February convicted Armeelia Vang, 20, of St. Paul of trying to cover up the rape.

Gresham school's license suspended over ex-con teacher's aide Alcazar accused of rape and sodomy of 15-year-old student
Ore. - The license of a private alternative school in Gresham has been suspended after a teacher's aide was accused of rape and turned out to be a convicted murderer. The suspension came after the May 18 arrest of Daniel Alcazar on rape and sodomy charges involving a 15-year-old student.  In 1995, Alcazar was sentenced to 12 years in prison for the 1994 killing of a Portland woman. He can't get a good night's sleep without medication, and for years was too terrified to play baseball again.   His former coach in Redmond, Christopher Stefanik, was sentenced Friday to 23 years in prison for sexually abusing or taking explicit photos of four boys. Johnson was in court, along with two of Stefanik's other victims and their families, to tell their abuser how he shattered their lives — and to inspire more of his victims to come forward.

Octaviano Juarez-Corro accused of killing two and wounding three - Suspect Man Fled To Mexico
Milwaukee prosecutors have officially charged a 30-year-old man accused of killing two and wounding three in a Memorial Day park shooting. Octaviano Juarez-Corro has been charged  Witnesses in South Shore Park  said that they saw a woman with a 3-year-old girl telling Juarez-Corro that he couldn't see his daughter. They then saw Juarez-Corro pull out a gun, fire six to eight shots, then reload and shoot again. Two Milwaukee men were declared dead at the scene -- Raymundo Silva, 31, and Julio Diaz-Guillen, 17. The three injured people are identified as Eunice Torres, Jose Saavedra and Everardo Munoz.  Authorities said that they suspected that Juarez-Corro, 33, might have fled to Mexico. - (crime) - (Invasion!)   Citizenship status of suspect not reported.

Morales, Woman Arrested After Pursuit, Standoff
WESTMINSTER, Colo. -- A man wanted in an attack on a police officer are behind bars.Julian Morales, 24, barricaded himself inside a home Tuesday night. Nearby homes were evacuated because there were reports he had a sub-machinegun. He surrended to police several hours later. Officials said Morales was in a car that tried to back over a police officer. The officer was not injured and the alleged driver of the car was arrested. Jackie Lynn Douglas, 31, faces several charges including first-degree assault, aggravated motor vehicle theft, possession of burglary tools and criminal possession of a forged instrument. Douglas was also charged with eluding police - (crime)
