Sketch of suspect in west Houston sexual assault released A woman was sexually assaulted in her west Houston home earlier this month. And now, police have a sketch of a man they say is responsible. Police say the victim, who is a grandmother, was home alone when she heard a knock on her door, and answered it, thinking it was someone she knew. The man pushed his way inside the home and began hitting the woman on the head. He told her he had a gun and then sexually assaulted her. The suspect is described as a black male in his early 30s. He's about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a slim build and muscular shoulders, a thin moustache and a goatee. He wore plaid green shorts, a black T-shirt, a blue do-rag and carried a green backpack. |
2 Long Beach Men Arrested On Human Trafficking, Pimping Charges Two Long Beach men have been charged with a total of nine felony counts related to the kidnapping and forced prostitution of two women, Long Beach police announced Friday. Xenia man accused of child rape A Xenia man was arrested Wednesday following an investigation into rape allegations by a child under 13. Joshua Landers, 24, is being held in a Greene County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond. Xenia Police said he will be charged with forcible rape. The rape allegedly occurred in March at a location off of Kinsey Road. Landers is an acquaintance of the family of the victim. |
Beaverton police officer on leave for alleged food stamp fraud, now accused of raping child A SWAT team was dispatched Wednesday to arrest a Beaverton police officer accused of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old child. Christopher R. Warren, 33, who lives in Vancouver, was taken into custody at his home in the 9200 block of Northeast 14th Way, Vancouver police said. He was booked into the Clark County Jail on a rape of a child charge. |

Family members of victim Jennifer Krieger called police after not being able to reach her or her 14-year-old daughter Kelsie since Thursday evening. Man suspected in Grand Prairie double murder to be extradited from New Mexico ![]() ![]() Authorities say the extradition process has begun for the man who police suspect killed a Grand Prairie mother and her teenage daughter over the weekend. Kirkland Reed, 45, was taken into custody Sunday at hospital in Alamogordo, N.M., after police discovered Jennifer Krieger, 44, and her daughter Kelsie, 14, slain in their Grand Prairie home. Reed, who has a criminal past, had been in a relationship with Krieger, police said. The mother died of blunt force injuries to the head, according to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office. Matthew Nichols allegedly sets girlfriend Jessie McFadden on fire North Little Rock police have a man in custody who they say set his fiancé on fire, who died as a result of her injuries. Matthew Wayne Nichols 46, allegedly set his fiancé 38-year-old Jessie McFadden on fire Monday night. Police say 90 percent of McFadden's body was burned. She died overnight Monday as a result of her injures. Police say the incident happened just after 5 p.m. at 219 Water Street in North Little Rock. Several witnesses tell police they saw McFadden on fire, then saw Nichols pour more gasoline on her, accelerating the flames. Athens man indicted for binding, strangling woman during alleged rape A Clarke County grand jury on Tuesday indicted an Athens man for strangling and binding a woman with duct tape during an alleged rape attempt nearly a year ago. Charlie Daniel Dorsey, 33, was arrested July 31, soon after the alleged victim escaped from the home where she had been held against her will. Athens-Clarke police said at the time that the 22-year-old woman claimed Dorsey duct taped both her wrists and strangled her while raping her, causing her to lose consciousness. |

Pascagoula man gets 25-year sentence in child sex crime case Mississippi -- Kendrick Jackson, 39, pleaded guilty today to 3 counts of touching of a child for lustful purposes and 1 count of sexual battery involving 3 different victims, who were all younger than 14. The crimes date back to December 2006 until July 201. Judge Dale Harkey sentenced Jackson to 15 years in prison on the 3 touching charges, the maximum penalty. An investigation revealed the victim was asleep at the suspect's home in the 17400 block of Wilson Street when she woke to an acquaintance raping her, police said. Convicted Felon Wanted By Authorities After Making Violent Threats Against School Children Authorities asked for the public’s help Monday in locating a man they consider to be extremely violent and an imminent public threat. Frank Edward Edmonds, 40, is wanted on a warrant for a parole violation and a pending battery case, the LA County Probation Department said. Suspect Identified in Fatal Hofstra Home Invasion![]() A wanted man with a criminal history dating back nearly 15 years was identified by police Saturday as the masked home invader involved in the death of a Hofstra University student early Friday morning. Dalton Smith, who was wanted on a parole violation related to a first-degree robbery conviction, attempted to rob the off-campus home where he and Hofstra junior Andrea Rebello were fatally shot, Nassau County police said. Authorities said police were involved in the shooting although it isn't clear who fired the shots that killed Rebello and Smith around 2:30 a.m. Friday. Police said they are still investigating. But on Thursday morning, as he was assisting someone who had crashed their car, another car drove by and hit him. Kleiner was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition. Police identified the driver who hit Kleiner as Robert Owen Blount, 23. He was arrested on charges of failure to report an accident, having an open container in a vehicle, failure to render aid at an accident, improper lane change and driving under the influence. DNA leads to guilty plea in St. Louis County cold case rape A St. Louis man pleaded guilty and was sentenced Friday to 48 years in prison for raping a woman at gunpoint in Castle Point in 2001. Jerrell Scott, 28, was linked to the attack by DNA, according to prosecutors. Prosecutors said Scott grabbed the woman off the street on Oct. 26, 2001, and took her to two adjoining yards where he raped her. Scott also asked the woman to perform oral sex on him but she refused, prosecutors said. The woman immediately sought help after the attack. The DNA hit, linking Scott to biological material left on the woman's pants, came last year, according to prosecutors. |

Man jailed on $300K bond in rape case DAYTON — A 35-year-old man remains in jail on a $300,000 bond following an indictment accusing him of rape and other felonies. Erick White was formally charged this week by a Montgomery County grand jury on charges of domestic violence and aggravated burglary as well, according to the county prosecutor’s office. White is accused of entering a home on Karwin Drive without permission on May 2 and assaulting a woman there. According to court records, he has domestic violence convictions from 1998 and 2011. |
Anthony Graham accused of criminal sexual abuse BELLEVILLE, Ill. - A Belleville man has been charged for allegedly abusing a 28-year-old woman. Police were called by a woman who said she was sexually abused. She said she was sitting on the steps to her apartment building smoking a cigarette when a man approached her and asked her for a cigarette. The victim says she gave the man a cigarette, and was chatting with the man when she became uncomfortable. She says she gathered her belongings and was walking back into her apartment when the suspect, identified as 35-year-old Anthony T. Graham, grabbed her arm and pulled her between two buildings. Graham allegedly put his hand down the woman's pants. The woman says she struggled and was able to break free and run inside her apartment where she called police. Police found Graham nearby hiding under bushes. |
27-Year-Old Woman Arrested For Assaulting Child At Philadelphia Elementary School PHILADELPHIA – A 27-year-old woman has been arrested for assaulting a student at a Philadelphia elementary school. Atiff Brown, of S. 60th Street in Philadelphia, was arrested for allegedly assaulting an 11-year-old student at A.B. Anderson Elementary School on Monday. Brown was charged with Terroristic Threats, Simple Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person and Defiant Trespass. |
Unconscious homeless woman found being raped in downtown Indianapolis alley, police say A homeless man has been arrested in the rape of an unconscious homeless woman in a downtown alley, police said. Just after midnight Friday, officers were alerted to a possible assault in the 200 block of McCrea Street, the alley southwest of Georgia and Meridian streets. The officers found a man raping a woman between a trash compactor and a fence, police said. The woman was found to be unconscious and took two minutes to respond, police said. The man was identified as Theodore Bryant, 56. He was arrested on a preliminary charge of rape. |
Man Charged In Death Of Girlfriend's 3-Year-Old Son A Nashville man has been charged with aggravated child abuse stemming from the death of his girlfriend's 3-year-old son. 30-year-old Donald Harris admitted to whipping the child multiple times with a belt and striking him with his hand. Police said an ambulance was called to the mother's home after she reported the child had stopped breathing. The child died shortly after he arrived at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital. The hospital staff reported finding multiple bruises on the child's abdomen, chest, back, leg, arms, face, and head. The affidavit said he had also sustained abrasions on his face, chest, and neck areas, as well as injuries on the inside of his upper and lower lips. |
Texas man, Naim Rasool Muhammad, convicted of capital murder for drowning his two sons, 3 and 5 After deliberating for just 10 minutes, a Dallas County jury found 34-year-old Naim Rasool Muhammad, guilty of capital murder for drowning his two sons. Muhammad was convicted of the August 2011 deaths of 5-year-old Naim and 3-year-old Elijah. Muhammad allegedly told the police that he drowned his sons because he was angry at their mother - his girlfriend, Kametra Sampson - for ending their relationship. He said that he pushed the boys' faces under water after taking them to a creek in Dallas and telling them to pretend they were swimming. |

Man Arrested: Baby girl fatally stabbed in Sandusky OH - A baby girl was fatally stabbed at a Sandusky home on Thursday. The baby was just 11-months, and was attacked inside a house on Dewey Street. Denzel Castile, 19, was arrested at the scene. He is charged and is being held without bond. The relationship between the baby and Castile is not clear at this time. |
Charleston County judge denies bail for man accused in Mount Pleasant child abuse death A judge has denied bail for a man accused of killing a 2-year-old boy in Mount Pleasant from abuse. The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has identified the boy as Elijah Washington. Elijah died in a hospital on March 19 of severe abdominal injuries as a result of blunt-force trauma, Mount Pleasant police Maj. Stan Gragg said. Officers on Thursday arrested Bryan Okeith Seabrook, 25, of Mathis Ferry Road, and charged with homicide by child abuse. He will remain jailed without bail following a hearing this morning. |

Police say that an autopsy revealed Isiah Barber was struck in the chest. And a probable cause statement from the St. Louis circuit attorney, on view below, says that the father admitted to police that he had hit his son. |

Police say Josephe Murray, an 18-year-old from the 5700 block of Reedland Street, was arrested for the murder of 36-year-old Thomas Watson, who was gunned down outside his apartment over the weekend (see previous story). Watson, who was known as DJ Fenicx, was moving equipment into his second-floor apartment above a Haagen Dazs store on South Street when he was reportedly ambushed by a pair of suspects and shot. Syracuse man gets 16 years in robbery, shooting of CBA coach Tom Dotterer![]() An accomplice in the shooting of a Christian Brothers Academy coach Jan. 23 was sentenced this morning to 16 years in state prison. Shireff Williams, 19, was involved in the robbery of liquor store owner Tom Dotterer, CBA's baseball coach, and of two women on Taft Avenue. Dotterer was shot in his eye during the robbery at his store, Salina Liquors and Wine. The Judge called the shooting of Dotterer "an unfortunate circumstance and tragedy." He noted that Williams did not possess or fire the weapon used in the robbery. That said, Aloi told Williams, "You are, under our law, criminally responsible of the conduct of the one who did." Black man sentenced for beating his white 'ex-girlfriend' with hammer while their children slept![]() ![]() CLEVELAND -- The man who beat his former girlfriend with a hammer while their children slept across the hall has been sentenced to 14 years in jail. Seven months ago, John Whitfield locked his ex-girlfriend in her room, then went in with pepper spray and a hammer. He blinded her with the spray and then beat her repeatedly in the head with the hammer. He went before a judge and pleaded guilty. His sentence was the maximum allowed by law -- fourteen years in prison and five years probation. It's been a long seven months for Arela Leidy and her family, but Wednesday certainly offered closure. Leidy, due to the beatings, has limited ability to speak. Man wanted in Columbia homicide arrested in North Carolina ![]() Md. —Howard County police said a man wanted in connection with a homicide in Columbia has been taken into custody in North Carolina. Authorities said Ryan Patrick Matthias, 43, of Charlotte, N.C., is being held in the killing of Deborah Castellano, 47, who was shot in her car on Basket Ring Road in Columbia on May 4. Castellano recently moved to the area from New York, police said. Police received a 911 call around 9 a.m. from a person who reported seeing a woman who appeared to be injured in a car. Officers arrived and found Castellano, who lived at that address, dead in a Toyota Corolla in the parking lot. She had been shot multiple times. Investigators said they learned Castellano had recently been harassed by Matthias, who was her ex-boyfriend. Detectives learned that the pair was arrested in New York in March for a domestic violence incident. The victim's maiden name is Massocco. - (Black-on-white) |

Suspect in Dayton sexual assault arrested * Liberty County woman left bloody, bruised during attempted rape speaks out ![]() Dayton police have arrested a man for the attempted sexual assault of a 56-year-old woman who was allegedly attacked at her home. The arrest was made shortly after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14. Detective Doug O’Quinn said that Dayton Police Department was able to quickly solve this case because the victim was able to identify her attacker from a photo line-up. The suspect is Kyle Antoine, 27, of Dayton, who has been charged with Burglary of a Habitation with the Intent to Commit a Sexual Assault. * Leslie Garrett is one victim who will not hide. Garrett woke up around 10:20 p.m. to find a partially-clothed man standing at the foot of her bed.
