13-Year-Old Says KC Man Sexually Sodomized Her Jimmie Gatewell Jr. is accused of sexually assaulting a 13 year-old girl last month. He's charged with six felonies: three counts of forcible sodomy and three counts of statutory sodomy.

Scalded girl dies in Oakland home where abuse warnings were raised for 6 years  Despite repeated complaints about suspected physical child abuse, state authorities failed to take sufficient action against a woman facing second-degree murder charges in the fatal scalding of a 22-month-old girl. Letita Ann Johnson, 27, was charged with second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter in the death of Jasmine Adia Lawrence-Phillips. Six other children were removed from the Orion Township home of their 26-year-old father, Louie D. Phillips, who is not charged with any crimes. Man sentenced to life for killing ex-girlfriend, daughter, three children A man was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for murdering his ex-girlfriend, their 9--year-old daughter and three of the women's other children. Authorities say Roger Thompson, 36, confessed to strangling 33-year-old Lisa Shelton and using a metal pipe to kill their daughter Aushanai and Shelton's three other children, William Parker Jr., 16, Wrandell Parker, 14, and Wanee Parker, 12.Shelton's 13-year-old sister survived the attack by playing dead.. Convicted Rapist Pleads Not Guilty To 10 Murders LOS ANGELES -- A convicted rapist alleged to be "the most prolific killer" in the history of Los Angeles pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges that he murdered 10 women between 1987 and 1998. | Judge Throws Out Claim of 'Racist' Brutality on Fellow (Black Hispanic) Officer MIAMI (AP) - A well-traveled lawsuit claiming a racist police officer purposely ran over a plainclothes detective with his own department has been dismissed by a federal judge after once producing a $5.7 million jury award. U.S. District Judge James Lawrence King threw out the suit against Miami-Dade County. He noted "compelling evidence" against Sgt. William Alsbury but said the county couldn't anticipate racially motivated intent when Alsbury used his patrol car to run down Detective Michael Perez. "While it might be unwise policy to permit racists to serve as county officers, (Perez) has not presented evidence that a 'plainly obvious consequence' of employing Alsbury would be the intentional, unlawful use of force against African-Americans." Perez, who is black, was not in uniform when he was chasing a Radio Shack robbery suspect on foot in 1995. Alsbury, who said he thought Perez was a suspect, claimed he hit the detective when he lost control of his car on wet grass. - (NNN Bias Lawsuits) |

UK: Rape imam is jailed for 10 years  A former Muslim cleric has been jailed for 10 years for raping and sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl in a mosque where he was teaching. Manzoor Hussain, 42, of Ashley Road, Bristol was convicted of one offence of rape and four of indecent assault. The offences took place at a mosque in the city. "At the start of this catalogue of sexual abuse she was 12-years-old. She was just 13 when you raped her. |
| Accused boy child rapist Kenneth Parrywants two trials An accused child rapist is trying to separate the charges brought against him by four boys who claim he molested them. Kenneth Parry was indicted in March for molesting two brothers and two other boys who are unrelated. He is charged with raping at least one of the boys. He said one of the brothers said the molestation "progressed to incidents of anal sex." |

Smith was arrested Tuesday night after Hamilton police issued an alert earlier in the day. Hamilton police suspect Smith of raping a 12-year-old girl.

HIV-positive man who infected 17 women sentenced to 178 years A man convicted of deliberately exposing 17 women to HIV was sentenced yesterday to 178 years in prison. Anthony Whitfield, 32, was found guilty last month on 17 counts of first-degree assault with sexual motivation, two counts of witness tampering and three counts of violating a court protection order. Whitfield reportedly was infected with HIV while serving a prison term in Oklahoma in the 1990s. Five women cited in the case have tested positive for HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, and a sixth has developed AIDS. Health authorities said as many as 170 people may have been exposed to the virus, including subsequent partners of women with whom he slept.

Milwaukee Sheriff's Deputy robbed of badge & locked in trunk by prostitute - sentenced for lying about incident  A Milwaukee County sheriff's deputy accused of picking up a prostitute and getting locked in the trunk of his car was sentenced.
Keith Barkster, 32, was sentenced to a year of probation, 20 days in the House of Correction, and was ordered to pay $500 to the city of Milwaukee.
He was also ordered to donate $200 to the Law Enforcement Agency trust account.

The chief executive and the top financial officer at mortgage giant Fannie Mae forced out after auditing corruption scandal  Chief Executive Officer Franklin Raines said last night that he had decided to resign because of his pledge to hold himself accountable if regulators determined the existence of accounting errors. Recent revelations from government investigators could result in Fannie Mae being forced to restate $9 billion or more in earnings over the past four years. A priest facing trial next month for allegedly molesting a former altar boy who later shot him has been defrocked by Pope John Paul II. Maurice Blackwell 58, is scheduled to go on trial on four counts of child sexual abuse against Dontee Stokes. Blackwell was shot by Stokes in May 2002, in the midst of the national scandal involving Catholic priests. In the aftermath, Baltimore prosecutors reviewed Stokes' allegations and charged the priest with molesting Stokes. The pope decided in October to dismiss Blackwell. -
