Sex
offender indicted on 21 counts including child molestation The murder of 12-year-old Ashleigh Moore left Savannah in shock. Investigators think Bobby Buckner, the man who was living in Ashleigh's home, was involved, but he was never charged. The district attorney's office indicted Buckner on 21 counts in all, including child molestation. None of the charges involve Ashleigh. But police say the indictment stems from information they discovered as they investigated her death. Ashleigh disappeared from her Southside home in 2003. Right away, they arrested her mother's boyfriend--Buckner--for a probation violation. He is a convicted sex offender and was not supposed to be left alone with young girls. - (Tyrone N. Butts) |

"Bleeding
heart" liberal scofflaw judge Zito frees and compliments illegal alien criminal
'migrants' Instead of punishing 27 illegal immigrants, a Northampton County judge complimented them and set them free. The immigrants were arrested Oct. 27 for using false or stolen Social Security numbers to get jobs. After being rewarded with a week of free room and board at taxpayer expense in Northampton County Prison, the men pleaded guilty to tampering with public records. Fourteen of them also pleaded guilty to identity theft. Northampton County Judge Leonard N. Zito acknowledged it was wrong for them to use false Social Security numbers, but said their crimes warranted no punishment because "they broke the law to earn a living". "I see gentlemen who are here illegally strictly for the purpose of working," Zito said, adding it is a "sad day" for the country when prosecutors arrest men for trying to make better lives for themselves and their families. Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli has spoken out repeatedly against immigration-related crimes. He said Zito's decision won't stop him from arresting more illegal immigrants. - (forum) |
