Suspect In Indiana Rape Arrested In Missouri A suspect in a Kokomo rape was arrested during a traffic stop in Missouri this week, police said. Bryan Stone, 33, of Kokomo, was arrested Sunday by Cape Girardeau, Mo., on charges of marijuana possession, driving without a license and failure to drive on the right side of the road.

Curtis Dixon, 21, broke away from a correction officer Wednesday night, ran to the top of a cell block staircase and leaped headfirst to the concrete floor about three levels below.

Southeast Slayings Suspect Caught in La.  MONROE, La. -- A man wanted in Georgia and South Carolina in connection with two killings, a rape and an armed robbery was captured after crashing his stolen car during a police chase, authorities said. Tobias Chano "Toby" Lee, 28, had just gotten off Interstate 20 Tuesday afternoon after a Louisiana state trooper signaled him to pull over for following another vehicle too closely, police said. As the trooper approached the car, Lee sped away, leading to a chase at speeds as high as 90 mph, said Trooper Julie Lewis. Mother can't understand why black robber beat and cracked skull of her 97-lb daughter  CLEVELAND -- The mother of a 27-year-old Medina woman beaten during a robbery can't understand why the suspect did it. "She's 97 pounds, five feet tall and he's over six feet, 210 pounds," said Betty Townsend. "And he could have scared her just by looking at her. That's what's so awful to me. Why did he have to hit her so hard?" Her daughter, Missy Townsend, is one of two women from Medina County recovering from head injuries after they were beaten during robberies on the same night, possibly victims of the same man. Townsend's skull was badly fractured last week by a man who attacked her outside the Medina apartment she shares with her mother. The attacker took her purse and cell phone. Female Student Alleges Sexual Assault by School ROTC Instructor A Cobb County high school ROTC instructor has been charged with five felony counts in connection with the alleged of sexual assault of one of his female students. The arrest warrant accuses Charles Nelson, 44, of having physical contact with the Pebblebrook High School student at the school's campus in Mableton.

Assisted living facility worker indicted for attempted rape of Alzheimer's patient COVINGTON, La. -- An employee at an assisted living facility has been indicted on an attempted rape charge stemming from an alleged attack on an 82-year-old patient. Derrick Garrett, 46, of Folsom, had been booked on a charge of aggravated rape, but prosecutors said physical evidence did not prove rape. A grand jury returned the lesser charge. The alleged attack took place in a bathroom at the facility on Oct. 11. Police said the victim was an Alzheimer's patient. - (Gman)

Suspected Serial Rapist in Custody Trenton police say they may have caught a serial rapist. 19-year-old Taqualon Finch admitted raping a woman in an alley, two and a half weeks ago. Grenade attack statement ruled admissible A sergeant's admission that he rolled grenades into the tents of sleeping soldiers in Kuwait last year will be admissible when he goes on trial in the attack, a judge ruled at a pretrial hearing for Sgt. Hassan Akbar. The judge also granted Akbar's lawyers a delay in his trial so they could gather more documentation for an insanity defense. Two officers were killed and 14 soldiers wounded in the grenade attack in the early days of the U.S. invasion of Iraq. |

Wanted For Sexual Battery of 10-Year Old Arrested Hampton
police arrested Anthony Maurice Hawthorne charged with aggravated
sexual battery involving a 10-year old
girl. Police say that Hawthorne removed the girl from her home
for a scheduled visitation. Official allege Hawthorne committed several
acts of sexual battery against the child while she was in his custody.
The child's mother contacted police after the girl returned home and told

are investigating an alleged kidnapping attempt of a 12-year-old girl
by an African near Bradford Road. Police said the youngster claims
the suspect grabbed her by the arm while she was riding a bicycle to a
friend's house. "She indicated she was approached by a black male.
The man grabbed her by the arm and tried to pull her into a wooded area.
The female indicated she was able to get away from the man by biting him."

Watson has been behind bars for more than a a year since he was convicted
of third-degree rape, among other charges. Watson and Darryl Malone
molested two girls at Malone's home. One of them was younger

for Malone, who allegedly videotaped the encounters. The tape showed both

sentenced to death for kidnap-rape murder of woman store clerk  Fredrick
Antonio Evins has been sentenced to death for the abduction, rape
and murder of Rhonda Ward,
a local convenience store clerk. The Judge set the execution for Jan.
19. The execution will likely be delayed for years while the case
moves through the appeals process. Ward's nude body was found in an apple
orchard. Two days earlier, Evins took Ward from her job at Cigarettes
4 Less , sexually assaulted her and stabbed her a dozen times in her arms
and chest. He used the money he stole from her to fund a drug binge.

guilty of Dumpster murder of his White 16-year-old ex-girlfriend   Jurors
convicted 16-year-old Rocky Almestica of second-degree murder in
the death of his 16-year-old ex-girlfriend, Emily
Clemons. The defense's strategy was to convince the jury that
putting Clemons in a Dumpster after she was beaten did not kill her. Clemons
died from more than a dozen blows to the head with a hammer and a pot.

Evidence Leads To Arrest In Bible Store Killings  Prosecutors
charged a man in a double murder at a Raytown Bible bookstore last month.
Kellen C. McKinney, 27, is charged with two counts of first-degree
murder and two counts of armed criminal action in the deaths of John
Caylor, 79, and his wife, Mildred, 76. A customer who had gone
to the Caylor's Bible and Book Store noticed the door to the business
was locked and looked through a window and saw a body on the floor. Police

The Ohio Supreme Court on Wednesday overturned a man's death sentence and murder conviction in the execution-style shootings of two White college students, Brian Muha and Aaron Land, saying the case should have been tried in Pennsylvania where they were killed. The court ruled unanimously that Terrell Yarbrough was wrongly tried in Ohio for aggravated murder of the students from Franciscan University in Steubenville. 
Frances Newton, 39, was convicted in the 1987 shooting deaths of her husband and two children, ages 20 months and 7. Prosecutors said Newtown killed her family to collect $100,000 in insurance benefits. - (
