(Black) Hit-and-run driver gets jail time as (White) victim recalls harrowing scene
Tiffany MurdaughHeather HenslA hit-and-run driver who mowed down a woman on a busy lower Manhattan sidewalk over a year ago was sentenced Wednesday to two to six years in prison after her victim read an emotional statement in Manhattan court. Defendant Tiffany Murdaugh, 35, listened intently as her victim, Heather Hensl, 38, described the April 13, 2015 collision and her serious injuries. “I suddenly felt as if I walked into the largest metal lamppost possible – only the lamppost was not stationary, but instead a moving object,” said Hensl, her voice quavering. “I felt my shoes fly off my feet – I knew I was in trouble.” She continued, “I next felt myself being thrown up into the air then felt another sharp, searing, painful impact to my head.” Hensl, a physician’s assistant, said that despite surgery on her face, a permanent indent remains on her forehead. She also had to endure months of physical therapy for a shattered knee. But Murdaugh’s lips trembled when Hensl recounted the impact of the accident on her two daughters. Murdaugh admitted she was high at the time of the accident. - (Black-on-white)

(Cowardly black) 4-Time Felon Charged In Attempted Murder Of Oakland Police Sergeant
Marcus Tyrone MossOAKLAND, California — A four-time convicted felon was charged Monday with the attempted murder of a police officer for allegedly shooting at a police sergeant in Oakland last month. Marcus Tyrone Moss, 30, of Oakland, was arraigned in Alameda County Superior Court Monday afternoon for allegedly shooting at Sgt. Nadia Clark in the 1900 block of 73rd Avenue at about 9:25 p.m. on July 23. He’s scheduled to return to court on Sept. 28 to enter a plea. Sgt. Bradley Baker wrote in a probable cause statement that Moss ran toward Clark after she crashed into another vehicle at that location while she was responding to a call. Her patrol car was disabled and she was trapped inside. Baker wrote, “As he (Moss) approached the scene, he armed himself with a semiautomatic 9mm handgun and made some anti-police statements before raising the firearm and shooting at Sgt. Clark.” Moss’ firearm appears to have malfunctioned so he manipulated it and pointed it at Clark a second time before running off but it appears that his firearm malfunctioned again, Baker wrote. Clark wasn’t struck by the gunfire but was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries she suffered in the crash.

It happened on Camelback Road near Grand Avenue. Kevin Korkis, owner of Danny’s Deli, says the victim, Ernie Solano, was a regular, stopping by for a sandwich every day for the last 15 years. Around 10 pm. Saturday, Solano made one of his regular visits. When he turned to leave, he was hit by gunfire, falling through the door and back into the store. He died at the hospital. Solano leaves behind his wife, five children, and seven grandchildren. Those who knew him at the deli say he was like family to them too.
