'We Were Just Bad Kids': Brother of Handyman Accused of Raping, Murdering Drexel Grad Opens Up
James HarrisJasmine WrightHarry Harris knew Jasmine Wright from afar. When he would see her on the block where he once lived and still works, Wright was always quick with a wave and a hello. "She'll see you, just wave, say hi, out of respect, because she's a neighbor and we notice her," Harris said. "She was so respectable. That's a father's dream. She's a f---in' father's dream. Every mother and father would want a daughter like her, because she had it going on to the point of nothing but respect was pushed to her." So now, nearly two weeks after Wright, 27, who recently earned her master's degree in public health from Drexel University, was found strangled in her West Philadelphia apartment, Harris still can't wrap his head around why his brother, James Harris -- an ex-handyman at Wright's apartment building accused of raping then murdering the young woman -- would ever do that.

Then he allegedly fired at a janitor and a police officer who was checking out what was happening, but he missed both of them. “He is proud he gunned down a police officer,” Sexton said, as Soderberg’s widow and his fellow officers listened in court. “He is a police officer’s worst nightmare.” - (Black-on-white)

She said the family has been devastated since learning Jamie Murphy was stabbed to death by her boyfriend, Gary D. Perkins, 34, of Wilmington, who has been charged with first-degree murder. “The medical examiner said he cut her jugular,” she said, “and her face was all cut up.” “He just got out, a few days before this happened, for beating her up,” Danielle Perkins said. He often beat her – once because she didn’t have enough money to buy him the McDonald’s meal he wanted, instead getting him food from the dollar menu – and repeatedly threatened to kill both her and the baby if she tried to get him to pay child support, she said. Despite a court-ordered paternity test, she added, Perkins denies the baby is his. Jamie Murphy was diagnosed with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, but also had bipolar difficulties and developmental delays, her sisters said. She lost custody of the baby after sneaking out of the family’s house near New Castle with her and sleeping with Perkins on top of the slide so no one would see them. The couple often slept on the top of the slide after a police officer found them sleeping on the park bench. The night before Murphy’s body was found, a passerby took a short video of her and Perkins having a sexual encounter in the park and sent it to The News Journal.

  • Colin Cowherd taken off ESPN air after Dominican rant
Colin Cowherd insulted an entire country, saying baseball can’t be too complicated because so many Dominicans are able to play.
  • Colin Cowherd’s Dominican rant masks an ugly ESPN truth
First things first. What Colin Cowherd said on ESPN Radio Thursday was shocking; horrible and hurtful, dead wrong, inexcusable and indefensible. The mere notion that Dominicans — any strain of humanity — are intellectually inferior is the kind of eugenics demanded by rank racists as heard, read, schooled and assembled in marching units throughout Fascist Europe and even in U.S. cities (see: German-American Bund, Charles Lindbergh), 1929-1945.
And if Cowherd could not be suffered, the lowest, most vulgar, most women-trashing, weapons-worshipping, N-wording rappers have long been beckoned by ESPN as this Disney network’s most cherished, promoted sports pals! How quick and eager would ESPN boss John Skipper be to publicly recite the lyrics of ESPN’s embraced rappers? Or give an on-air biographical rundown of steady favorite Snoop Dogg, including his arrest record and details of his porn videos? As eager as Skipper was to jettison Cowherd?

  • Chinese Espionage: Was the OPM “Hack” Not a Hack, but Treason? - Diversity/Affirmative Action Deadly
Katherine ArchuletaBut did Katherine Archuleta stumble into her job? Fernandez points out that she’s an affirmative-action appointee, with her Opm.gov biography stating she’s part of an “inclusive workforce that reflects the diversity of America.” And what does she know about computer networks or security? Apparently nothing. As her biography informs. So Archuleta may be qualified to secure “diversity,” and this may include the diversity of foreign spies in American networks. And while an OPM data breach doesn’t sound as sexy as James Bond combating Goldfinger, it’s a serious matter.
