Christopher Joel Battaglia Left to right: Malcom Jefferies, Acey Marshall, Aurelias Marshall, Shelia Reed GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — One of three people charged with perjury in connection to a 1990 homicide has pleaded guilty. During a Monday status conference, Sheila Reed pleaded guilty as charged to perjury while under an investigative subpoena, according to Kent County Judge Mark Trusock’s office. Reed, 57, of Grand Rapids was charged with perjury in connection to the 1990 robbery and beating death of 23-year-old Joel Battaglia in Grand Rapids. His murder remained unsolved until late last year, when four people were arrested in the case. Aurelias Marshall was charged with the homicide, and Reed and two others with perjury. Marshall was convicted of murder earlier this month. Authorities also now say they think Marshall framed another man for sexually assaulting his then-girlfriend’s 10-year-old daughter in 1991. The Kent County prosecutor has filed a motion to vacate Quentin Carter’s conviction in that case. Malcolm Jeffries and Aurelias Marshall’s brother Acey Marshall, both of whom also face perjury charges, were also scheduled for status conferences Monday. - (Black-on-white)

Cook and a relative went there and approached a silver Mazda sedan with three men in it at about 5:15 a.m. Sunday. The men inside weren't giving the phone back to Cook, police said. During the confrontation over the phone, one man jumped out of the car and walked away and the driver stepped on the gas. Cook grabbed the driver's door and held onto the car as it peeled away out of the parking lot. Police responded to the reports of gunshots and found Cook bleeding behind a plaza. He died at the scene. The Mazda smashed into a fence and hydro pole and police found it abandoned. Ileane Leverne MadisonSara Power CashFORSYTH COUNTY — A caregiver has been indicted on charges of elder neglect after the Forsyth County woman in her care died. According to the indictment from Forsyth County Superior Court, Ileane Leverne Madison faces one count of neglect to an elder person and one count of exploitation and intimidation of elder persons. Court records show Madison has been accused of purposefully depriving Sara Francis Cash, who was 81 at the time, of care to the extent that her health and well-being were jeopardized. According to a Forsyth County Sheriff’s report, Cash was found in her room on July 7, 2014, covered in “deep black and purple bruises all over her body.” Reports that Madison had pushed Cash down have not been substantiated, said Robin Regan, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office, and are evidenced by lack of a homicide charge. “Her autopsy showed injuries from a fall played a part in the cause of death, but the actual cause was undetermined ultimately,” Regan said. - (Black-on-white)

Diversity thought police strike again at 'freedom of speech' - White Female Teacher Fired for "Racist" Post
Posting a fiery rant on her personal Facebook page defending the police officer who confronted a group of teens at a Texas pool party cost one teacher her job. The police officer caught on tape throwing an African-American bikini-clad teenage girl on the ground at a chaotic pool party last week in McKinney, Texas, isn’t the only person out of a job. Yesterday, a teacher from McKinney got axed from her position for posting a racially inflammatory rant about Officer Eric Casebolt’s resignation on her personal Facebook page — hotly defending his actions and referring to African-Americans as “having no education” and “the ones causing the problem” when it comes to racial tension. “This makes me ANGRY! This officer should not have to resign,” wrote Karen Fitzgibbons, formerly a fourth-grade teacher at Bennett Elementary School in McKinney, on her Facebook page on Tuesday, according to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal. The page has since been deleted. “I guess that’s what happens when you flunk out of school and have no education. I’m sure their parents are just as guilty for not knowing what their kids were doing; or knew it and didn’t care,” she continued. “I’m almost to the point of wanting them all segregated on one side of town so they can hurt each other and leave the innocent people alone.” She apologized for her inflammatory post, but she was fired anyway. The post went viral, and outraged readers called for the school district to fire her. (Third martyr so far on this.)

Rachel Dolezal“It’s like she’s in blackface,” the adopted brother of embattled Spokane, Wash. NAACP leader Rachel Dolezal complained Saturday. “It’s kind of a slap in the face to African Americans because she doesn’t know what it’s like to be black,” Ezra Dolezal — whose father is half black. “She’s only been African American when it benefited her. She hasn’t been through all the struggles. She’s only been African American the last few years,” he said. The brother, who shares the parents’ Northwest Montana home, said he recalls visiting her in Spokane, and her telling him she was starting life over as a black woman. “She told me not to blow her cover about the fact that she had this secret life or alternate identity,” the brother said.

Soppy YouTube music videos created by her former fiancé have emerged and show him gushing about their relationship - before she called off their engagement after just two months. The videos were made by Maurice Turner, a musician from Mississippi, to whom Dolezal became engaged in December 2012 before their union was called off in February 2013. Following their engagement, she flashed a large, sparkling ring on Facebook as they gushed about their future together.

  • Don't Confuse Rachel Dolezal with Caitlyn Jenner
Thanks to such odd, if not downright pathological, behavior, Dolezal can't even be seen as the latest in a long line of wiggers ranging from Norman Mailer (whose 1957 essay, "The White Negro: Superficial reflections on the hipster" pretty much conceptualized the category) to Eminem (and virtually all white rappers to one degree or another) to Johnny Otis (the Greek-American rock-and-roll pioneer who explicitly chose a black identity, saying "As a kid I decided that if our society dictated that one had to be black or white, I would be black.") In this sense, Dolezal is more akin to Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who asserted without evidence (or worse still, contra evidence) that she was part Cherokee.

After guilty verdict in second murder trial, (black) defendant attacks officer and spits on prosecutor
Damien InmanDamien Inman Mary Alice StuttsA jury once again found Damien Inman guilty of the robbery, murder and kidnapping of 75-year-old Mary Alice Stutts in Dillon in 2009. Jurors began deliberations at 6 p.m. Wednesday and reached a verdict around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. A jury convicted Inman in 2010 in this same case and sentenced him to life without the possibility of parole. But the South Carolina Supreme Court reversed the conviction and ordered Inman a new trial last year saying the Circuit Court improperly granted a motion and committed a legal error by denying Inman his right to challenge a juror during jury selection in that 2010 trial. After the verdict was announced Thursday, there was a scuffle between Inman, officers and a prosecutor. Inman swung at an officer and was taken down by other officers. His sister somehow made her way past officers to get to Inman and was arrested. Inman then spat on Deputy Solicitor Kernard Redmond and Dillon County Sheriff Major Hulon. A deputy received minor injuries from being cut by the handcuffs in the struggle to restrain Inman.
Inman and two other teenagers went to Stutts' home on August 17, 2009 asking for a drink of water. Stutts directed the teens to the outside faucet. "She tried to help three men with water on a hot day. And what did she get in return for that? Death, a brutal senseless death," said Daniel. The teens hit Stutts with a gun and threw her in the trunk of her car, Daniel said. He added they drove around in Stutts' car with her screaming for help in the trunk. The teens turned up the volume of the radio to drown out Stutts' cries for help, Daniel said. He said they killed her and left her body on a dirt road in Dillon County. - (Black-on-white)

A tragic tale of 2 families that ended with molestation and murder
Leeton Jahwanza ThomasLisa Scheetz and her 16-year-old daughter Hailey Lisa Scheetz and her three daughters were frequent visitors at Leeton and Donna Thomas' home, just a five-minute walk around a corner from the home the Scheetzes lived in on Spring Valley Road in a rural area of East Drumore Township. Social media accounts show the two families' children sitting together on a sofa. In a few photos, Lisa Scheetz, 44, is seen hugging one of the Thomases' sons, who she calls "my little dimple dumpling," during a breakfast out at a restaurant. In another photo on Mrs. Thomas' Facebook account, one of the Scheetz daughters, in her pajamas, is curled up with a pillow. But by 2014, the families' friendship came to an end, when Scheetz told police that two of her daughters had told her that Leeton Thomas had sexual contact with them. Thomas was charged with felony sexual molestation charges, and released on $5,000 bail. Early Thursday morning, Thomas broke into the Scheetzes' basement apartment and stabbed Lisa and her oldest daughter, Hailey, 16, to death and critically injured Scheetz's 15-year-old daughter. Authorities say that Thomas killed them in retaliation or to silence them for accusing him of sex crimes. Thomas, whose nickname is "Pie" and who will be 38 Saturday, came to Lancaster from Jamaica, where he and his wife met, said Donna Thomas' grandmother, Beulah Absher, of Quarryville. The two have three children and also were raising a child from Donna Thomas' first marriage, she said. For a time, Thomas had worked as a handyman. - (Black-on-white)

(Black) Man indicted in shooting of (White) cop in face
Demetrius BlackwellBrian MooreA Queens grand jury has indicted the man authorities say fatally shot a young cop in the face when the officer asked to see what was in his waistband. Demetrius Blackwell, 35, will be brought to Queens Supreme Court from jail at 2 p.m. Thursday to answer to the indictment, which charges him in the murder of Police Officer Brian Moore three ways, under three separate statutes. The top murder charge, aggravated murder, accuses Blackwell of intentionally killing a police officer in the line of duty. If convicted of that charge, Blackwell would be thrown in prison for life, without the possibility of parole. That sentence would be mandatory, meaning a sentencing judge would have no option to give him less. Finally, he is charged with the attempted murder of Moore’s partner, Police Officer Erik Jansen, who was sitting in the driver’s seat of the pair’s unmarked car as Moore, sitting in the passenger side in plain clothes but identifying himself as an officer, was shot through his open window.. - (Black-on-white)
