In prison, Nikko Jenkins was deemed too dangerous to mix with other inmates
Warren LeveringNikko JenkinsAndrea L. KrugerIn the two years before his release into the general population of Omaha, Nikko Jenkins wasn't even released into the general population of his prison. The main reason: He was too dangerous to mix with other inmates. Yet prison administrators launched him from their most extreme confinement — a segregated cell where he spent 23 hours a day — into the Omaha community. They did so despite warnings from Jenkins' family, friends, judges, psychiatrists, prosecutors, Parole Board staff, even Jenkins himself. In an email two months before Jenkins' release, Trudy Clark, an administrative assistant to the Nebraska Parole Board, wrote the director of the state corrections' mental health unit. “This email is written from a personal level only,” Clark wrote. “Why isn't Nikko Jenkins in the mental health unit? The board is getting letters from him that he is going to eat people, specifically Christians and Catholics. This is only one of many bizarre letters the board has gotten from him. Is he being evaluated for a mental health commitment? As a taxpayer, this guy scares me to death!”

Greenwich Village beating suspects Sherif Rizk (from left), Hatem Farsakh and Mahmoud HabibKevin McCarronThe wailing mother of a convicted thug collapsed when her son was tossed in prison for three years for viciously smacking a baseball bat into a tourist’s legs during a drunken brawl in the West Village last year. “My only son, my only son!” the heartbroken mom shrieked hysterically, writhing on the courtroom floor for close to half an hour. An ambulance was finally called to remove the grieving mother from the Manhattan court building in a stretcher as her daughters and husband trailed behind her. A jury found Sherif Rizk, 23, guilty of felony assault for his role in the violent melee which left Massachusetts man Kevin McCarron unconscious on MacDougal Street in the early morning hours of Dec 13, 2012. McCarron sustained a fractured skull and permanent brain damage, he testified at the trial in Manhattan Supreme Court. Co-defendant Fatem Harsakh was convicted of seven felonies and sentenced to 20 years in prison but jumped bail during a pretrial hearing. Mahmoud Habib was acquitted on all charges. The trio dodged the top charge of attempted murder. Farsakh told police the fight erupted when a member of McCarron’s group used a racial slur aimed at their Arab background.

She was smoking a cigarette in the car at the nearby Quality Inn around 4am when she was approached by 23-year-old Michael Antwon Fuller who asked her for a cigarette and the two started talking about their relatives in the hospital. Fuller told her he was worried about his uncle at the hospital and wondered if she wouldn’t mind driving him up there so he could see him. ‘Yeah I’ll give you a ride if you promise not to hurt me,’ she joked, agreeing to drive him since the hospital was only four minutes away and Fuller was clean cut, well-spoken and well dressed... he allegedly hit her face with the mouth of his gun...
