John Errol FergusonMIAMI - A Florida man who has spent 35 years on death row for killing eight people was executed on Monday despite a last-minute appeal by lawyers claiming he was insane. John Errol Ferguson, 65, who was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to death in 1978 for a pair of killing sprees, was pronounced dead at 6:17 p.m. EDT from lethal injection, said Misty Cash, a spokeswoman for the Florida Department of Corrections. In July 1977, Ferguson fatally shot six people execution-style during a drug-related home robbery in a northern Miami suburb. Six months later, he killed two teenagers after they left a church meeting. "He (had) a fixed delusion that he is the 'Prince of God' who cannot be killed and will rise up after his execution to fight alongside Jesus and save America from a communist plot.

Daymond Agnew An El Sobrante hardware store employee Daniel Joseph Stone was fatally stabbed 17 times by a customer after he sought to report to police that the man had grabbed spray paint from the aisles and decorated his face in silver and black, the colors of the Oakland Raiders, prosecutors said Monday. After he was arrested, Daymond Agnew told investigators that Allah told him to go to Oliver's Ace Hardware on Sunday morning to help people, and that he spray-painted his face because he felt that "the Raiders are favored by Allah," said Contra Costa County Deputy District Attorney Mary Knox.
   

    Man charged with rape in Christiansburg
Christopher McKinsley Dobbins IIA man has been charged with rape in relation to an incident that occurred early Sunday morning in the Victory Heights area of Christiansburg, according to a police news release. Christopher McKinsley Dobbins II, 21, of Christiansburg, was being held without bond this morning at the Montgomery County Jail. According to online records, Dobbins was arrested Monday. The police investigation at this point includes evidence that Dobbins and the victim knew each other.

Peris DorsetteFLINT, MI -- Peris Dorsette, 20, has been arraigned on murder and torture charges in the death of Gary Nagy, the 57-year-old homeless man found slain July 30 near the shuttered McKinley Middle School. He is being held without bond in the Genesee County Jail. Police said over the weekend they continue to look for more suspects. A bus driver was practicing driving and found Nagy's body near a dumpster and partially covered by debris. Police said Nagy died of head trauma. DeLand police said they received a call just after 5 a.m. Friday from the Hunters Creek Apartments. A man reported his car stolen after seeing the car being driven away by Khambrel Hadley. More than six hours later, DeLand officers returned to the apartment complex for a well-being check requested by Orlando police. The suspect’s mother called officers, saying her son admitted to killing his girlfriend “two days ago” and dumping her body in an unknown area. It was also alleged he had stolen a car. A body was later found in a wooded area near State Road 46 and Hunter Avenue now confirmed to be Hadley’s girlfriend 19-year-old Alyssa Oakes. - (Black-on-white)

    Prosecutors hope man's 45 year sentence brings closure to brutal murder

"I'm very pleased with the verdict and hope it brings some measure of closure to the family," said deputy Sean Thornton, who prosecuted the case against 34-year-old Kelvin Jackson who was sentenced to 45 years in prison after being found guilty of the 2011 murder of 34-year-old Masako Yamaguchi Miller. "Mr. Jackson is a very dangerous person who deserves every day of the sentence the judge gave him," Thornton said. Prosecutors said a Beaufort County jury deliberated about two hours Friday before finding Jackson guilty of murder. Authorities say Jackson strangled Miller and smothered her in a pillow while their children slept in nearby rooms in May 2011. Her body was found by fishermen in a mud flat near the Broad River, several days after she was reported missing.

    Miller's "American mom," Diane Dunbar said she was hit hard by the news and was distraught. Dunbar took Miller in after she came to America with Dunbar's son and was pregnant with his child. Kelvin Jackson, Miller's ex-boyfriend, is in jail for possession of Miller's belongings, including using her credit card the night she vanished, Tammy Sanders calls 34-year-old Yamaguchi family. Thirteen years ago, the Japanese immigrant came to the United States with Sanders' cousin. Yamaguchi was pregnant with his child after meeting in Japan. Sanders says her aunt took Yamaguchi in as one of her own children.

    NYC police say officer shot armed 14-year-old black boy to death
Shaaliver DouseDespite the tragic young age of Shaaliver Douse, Ray Kelly was quick to defend the white 26-year-old officer, who just graduated from the police academy last month. Kelly said the teen had fired multiple rounds and was chasing someone through the streets of the Bronx about 3am Sunday. When two officers confronted him, he refused to drop the pistol and pointed it at them, the Commissioner said at a press conference Sunday evening. The officer fired a single round from his 9mm service pistol, striking Shaaliver in the jaw and killing him.
   

    Immokalee man arrested for indecent exposure
Pierre MarcellinCOLLIER COUNTY - A 49-year-old Immokalee man was arrested for allegedly exposing his genitals while children were present. Deputies said Pierre Marcellin was spotted walking around the Crestview Park Apartments on Lauren Lane with his shorts pulled down. A deputy was responding to another call when he saw Marcellin. Marcelin told investigators he had just been attacked by three women. When deputies asked Marcellin why the women were allegedly battering him, he said he didn't know. Deputies also asked him why his pants were pulled down, and he responded, "I don't know."

Authorities said Kenny Stewart, 28, is accused in a case involving a child less than 10 years old. Investigators said the victim was a young girl who was hospitalized Friday and later released.     Missing Mass. teens found with convicted sex trafficker
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Two missing Mass. teens, one of whom was discovered stripping at a Providence strip club, were found alongside a man who has been previously convicted of running a teen prostitution ring. Investigators tell the newspaper a 15-year-old Boston girl was accompanied by 51-year-old Troy Footman when she was stripping inside Cheaters on Allens Avenue Monday night. They say undercover detectives were approached by another teenage girl and offered sex while inside the club. Footman was arrested as he exited the strip club. While he was being arrested, investigators searched a motor lodge in Seekonk where the 51-year-old was reportedly staying. They found a missing 15-year-old Brockton girl inside his room.

U.S. Marshals arrested Josue Javier Fernandez Barrios, 21, of Honduras, at about 9 a.m. Friday in Savannah, Ga. Barrios is charged in connection with a rape reported shortly after midnight Saturday, July 27, in the 1800 block of Market Street. A second victim reported she was assaulted at about midnight Sunday in the 3600 block of Princess Place Drive.

    Surveillance pics lead to arrest of African American sexual assault suspect
DeMarcus Nasson ChaneyMINNEAPOLIS - Police say the release of surveillance photos led directly to the arrest of a 32-year-old man in connection with a violent sexual assault in late June. DeMarcus Nasson Chaney is charged with first degree sexual assault for the alleged attack, which took place in a south Minneapolis alley early the morning of June 24. Officers were dispatched on a complaint of a sexual assault at gunpoint. The victim told investigators that she was walking home from Mortimer's Bar when an African American male approached her from the front, tried to make small talk, then forced her into an alley and pointed a gun at her head. The victim says her attacker said he'd killer her if she screamed, then pulled off her pants, raped her, and stole her phone.

    Fugitive charged with armed rape extradited from Canada
Mercelin EtienneMercelin Etienne, 54, a five year fugitive was extradited from Canada and booked into the Broward County, Florida jail on Thursday, Aug 1, 2013. Etienne is charged with armed sexual battery, which occurred on June 20, 2008. He was accused of raping an 18 year old family member in the back seat of a vehicle while armed. He is also accused of attempting to strangle her twice.

    Former Jacksonville firefighter convicted of rape, attempted murder of woman leaving club
Daniel Archie EvansA former Jacksonville firefighter might spend the rest of his life in prison after a jury convicted him Thursday of sexual assault, kidnapping and attempted murder. Daniel Archie Evans, 31, was convicted Thursday of grabbing a woman from behind in front of the Burrito Gallery on Adams Street in June 2012, dragging her into a nearby alley and beating and raping her. Evans showed little emotion. He will be sentenced the week of Sept. 9 by Circuit Judge Adrian G. Soud, and the maximum punishment allowed is life without the possibility of parole.

A Virginia court this year ordered the money garnisheed from six months of Brawley’s wages as a nurse there. She still owes Pagones $431,000 in damages. Nebraska gubernatorial candidate blames federal immigration policy in ‘horrendous’ rape case
A Nebraska state senator and Republican gubernatorial candidate is linking the rape and death of a 93-year-old woman to his push for restrictive legislation targeting immigrants. State Sen. Charlie Janssen (R) wrote in a letter to the Lincoln Journal-Star that the July 21 death of Louise Sollowin “is undeniable evidence that our borders are not secure and we have no idea who is entering our country. The result of the federal government’s failure here — not only criminal violence but human trafficking and drug smuggling — has cost our state immeasurably.” According to the Omaha World-Herald, the suspect, 19-year-old Sergio Martinez-Perez, has been placed under a detainer by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials, on suspicion of entering the U.S. illegally. He is accused of first-degree murder for allegedly entering Sollowin’s home and severely beating her before raping her. - (Invasion!)

   

   

 

    Queer Westwego man indicted in homo rape of 6-year-old boy
Kevin MuthA Westwego man was charged Thursday in a three-count indictment with molesting a 6-year-old boy and keeping hundreds of pornographic images of children on his computer. Kevin Muth, 50, was accused by a Jefferson Parish grand jury of aggravated rape, sexual battery and possession of child pornography. The boy victim was abused in March or early April, according to the bill of indictment. The Westwego Police Department arrested Muth on April 8, after the boy's mother notified them of the abuse allegations. Muth performed oral sex on the boy and tried to have the boy do the same. The boy would not.


    (White) Hattiesburg man murdered after apparent home invasion by three black males
Robert Franklin WilliamsHATTIESBURG, MS - A 26-year-old man was shot to death Thursday night in Hattiesburg in what witnesses said was a home invasion. Police discovered Robert Franklin Williams dead in a bedroom in a home along the 1200 block of West 7th street after responding to an emergency call. Roommate Kaleb Westbrook, who was home at the time, says three suspects, one of them armed with a handgun, entered the house and forced three of the roommates into a bedroom. It was there that Williams was shot. Williams was later transported to Forrest General where he was pronounced dead. "They [the suspects] were very well covered," said Westbrook. "They had bandanas around their faces. They had gloves on, they were all average height. Middle to pretty large build, and black males. The only thing that we can come up with is that it had to be gang related. These people didn't even want anything, like, we tried to give them what we had. They didn't want it. The only thing I can think of is they came to kill all of us and that my friend Bobby sacrificed his life to save us." - (Black-on-white)
   

   

Codrick Bass Sentenced to 20 Years for Shooting (White) Officer
Codrick BassRobert Edwards JrCHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A Goose Creek man who seriously injured an officer and wounded two others during a shooting spree in 2010 has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. Codrick Bass, 36, of Goose Creek pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and kidnapping, according to the Post and Courier. He submitted Alford pleas for three counts of attempted murder. Investigators say then-Goose Creek police officer Robert Edwards Jr. was responding to a domestic violence call on July 19, 2010. Bass shot Edwards with a 12-guage shotgun from his porch, hitting him in nine places, including his face. One bullet punctured his lung. Doctors had to reconstruct his jaw. - (Black-on-white)

Authorities arrested 28-year-old Michael Deveraux into custody for first-degree murder and robbery with a firearm. Over week ago, a customer walked into the Four Seasons Gas and Food Convenience Store and found the body of 62-year-old Habib Hajimirzaei. Customers were shocked that the man many people considered a friend was killed in cold blood.

    City Official’s Husband Charged With Sexually Assaulting Teen
Martin McKinneyCHICAGO – The husband of a city public health official has been charged with sexually assaulting a teen, authorities said Friday. Martin McKinney, 40, was charged with criminal sexual assault for the alleged 2007 incident, police said. McKinney is the husband of Suzet McKinney, a deputy commissioner with the Chicago Department of Public Health, according to a source.

    Shreveport firefighter charged with cruelty, prostitution
Derrick N. HarrisSHREVEPORT, LA - A Shreveport firefighter is on paid administrative leave after his arrest on charges of cruelty and prostitution, following allegations of criminal wrongdoing at the fire station where he works. According to Shreveport police, investigators began looking into a complaint alleging criminal activity had taken place at the Shreveport fire station in the 3400 block of Velva Street. As a result of that investigation, police say they got an arrest warrant charging 50-year-old Derrick N. Harris, an employee of the Shreveport Fire Department, with one count each of cruelty to the infirm and principal to prostitution.

Wiley Jackson DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A local megachurch pastor and his brother were indicted on Wednesday, according to the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office. Gospel Tabernacle Church Pastor Bishop Wiley Jackson and his brother Rodney Jackson are facing eight felony counts for allegedly violating the Georgia Securities Act. DeKalb District Attorney Robert James said the brothers misled their own church members in investing into Genesis LLC, a securities entity that was not registered by the state.

Alejandro "Big Poppa" PittsATLANTA - The suspect in the death of an Atlanta pastor's brother has waived his first court appearance. Jerrick Jackson, 46, was killed on May 7 outside of his home on Lowe Street. Jackson is the brother of the Rev. Wiley Jackson of Gospel Tabernacle Church. On Thursday, police arrested Alejandro "Big Poppa" Pitts, 18, and charged him with murder and armed robbery. Jerrick Jackson had just returned to his home on Lowe Street with his wife when they were robbed by several men at gunpoint upon exiting their car. Jerrick Jackson was shot and killed when the robbers attempted to force him and his wife into their home.

    Employee embezzles $500k from church
Jerri S. HunterSUFFOLK, Va. - A woman was arrested in Suffolk Monday for embezzlement charges related to a church in Chesterfield, Va. Jerri S. Hunter, 39, embezzled more than $500,000 from the Chester United Methodist Church over several years. Hunter was the Chesterfield church's finance administrator, according to police, who are not sure exactly how much money she took.

Former engineer Jing Hua Wu gets life plus 75 years for triple slaying
Jing Hua Wu  SAN JOSE, Calif. — A judge in San Jose Friday sentenced a 52-year-old former engineer to life in prison plus 75 years for killing three co-workers after learning he had been fired in 2008. Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Sharon A. Chatman imposed the legally required sentence on Jing Hua Wu who was found guilty by a jury of three counts of first-degree murder with special circumstances March 8. Among those killed were SiPort's CEO Sid Agrawal, 56; its vice president Brian Pugh, 47; and its human resources manager Marilyn Lewis, 67, after prosecutors said Wu had begged unsuccessfully for his job back. "Mr. Wu is a calculating, selfish, careless, evil individual, who has shown no remorse".



    Black Suspect, 29, arraigned in slayings of White Clinton Township mom, daughter
Jay Thomas MillerTina Geiger, 47, and her daughter, KristinaCharges have been authorized in connection with the brutal slayings of a Clinton Township woman and her 11-year-old daughter, whose bodies were found this week. Jay Thomas Miller, 29, of Clinton Township was arraigned this afternoon by Magistrate Daniel J. Goulette in 41B District Court in Clinton Township. He is charged with lying to a police officer for a violent crime investigation and resisting and obstructing a police officer. Miller is being held on $200,000 bond and assigned a court-appointed attorney. He will have a preliminary exam within 14 days. Tina and Kristina Geiger, both described as mentally disabled, were found slain in their apartment near Metropolitan Parkway and Harper on Tuesday after they had not been heard from for several days. - (Black-on-white)

Natasha MartinezPolice in New York City are trying to find a black man wearing a hoodie who is responsible for a horrific attack on a teenage white girl who was stabbed 11 times just steps from her front door. The knife-wielding maniac ambushed Natasha Martinez, 17, as she returned home from working her shift at a local McDonald’s restaurant. Cops are still searching for the assailant and are looking at surveillance video from Monday to see if the suspect may have started following Martinez from McDonald’s or a nearby sandwich shop where she stopped to eat before heading home. A hoodie-wearing man can be seen in the video. Police also recovered a bloody kitchen knife with a 6-inch blade in the building’s vestibule. - (Black-on-white)
   

    Black Former Employee Convicted In Murder Of White Cordova Parks Superintendent
Dupree BarberSteven Duane Ebert SACRAMENTO – A former employee charged for the murder of a parks superintendent in January 2012 has been convicted of first degree murder. A jury convicted 49-year-old Dupree Barber for the murder of Steve Ebert, who was a maintenance supervisor for the Cordova Recreation and Park District. Barber shot and killed Ebert in retaliation to losing his job with the park district. Ebert was shot six times as he was pulling into Hagan Community Park in Rancho Cordova. Barber faces life in prison without the possibility of parole, and will be sentenced on August 28. - (Black-on-white)

A scared boy was about to exit the school bus when he was viciously attacked by three other classmates. The bus driver called for help but some argue didn't do enough to stop the incident. He is being investigated. The youths have already been charged. Cited reason for the attack? The victim did not want to buy drugs from the attackers and instead turned them into the school. Why were they allowed to ride the same school bus home? Why weren't they arrested at school for drug possession?
Three students are accused of beating a younger student aboard a Pinellas County school bus. Officials said the bus driver from Lealman Intermediate School called for help when three students "ganged up" on a 13-year-old student, kicking and punching the victim. The driver stopped the bus near 20th Avenue South and 51st Street. Police said the suspects used the emergency exit of the bus to escape. Joshua Reddin, Julian McKnight, and Lloyd Khemradj, all 15 years old, were arrested a short time later. An investigation revealed one of the suspects had tried to sell drugs to the victim in a school bathroom. The victim notified officials at the school. Later that day, the suspects and victim rode the same school bus home. Officials said the victim tried to crawl under a seat on the bus as the suspects punched and kicked the victim for roughly a minute, police said. The victim suffered a fractured arm. Police say Joshua Reddin also took the victim's money after the beating. All three teens are charged with aggravated battery. Reddin is also charged with unarmed robbery.     White Victim of alleged stomping by Black Rockets' Terrence Jones recounts attack
Terrence JonesDaniel KellerherPORTLAND, Oregon – A 46-year-old homeless man who was reportedly stomped by Houston Rocket Terrence Jones Wednesday opened up about the attack Thursday. Daniel Kellerher, who has struggled with homelessness and drug addiction for almost 20 years, said he was stomped in the back of his leg while he slept in a doorway in Old Town Portland. A police officer who witnessed the attack pulled over and spoke with Kellerher. Jones was then placed into custody and booked in the Multnomah County Jail on harassment charges. “I didn’t do nothing. I was laying there sleeping,” Kellerher said. “It was a shock, you know? Something like an electric fence went through me at that point in time.” Kellerher, who said he’s been in and out of the hospital for high blood sugar, told the officer that he wanted to press charges against Jones. Kellerher said he has slept under bridges, trees and in parks for 18 years and has never been attacked. “You know it don’t feel good..It’s hard. I just want to cry,” he said. “It’s just hard to talk about because it hurts. I didn’t think anybody would ever do that.” Kellerher said it still hurts to sit on one side. - (Black-on-white)

    Terrence Jones, who plays for the Houston Rockets, was arrested for allegedly attacking a homeless man in Portland, Oregon. Police say that Jones, 21, was witnessed leaving a nightclub around 2 a.m. Wednesday with a large group of men. While watching the group walk away from the Tube on 3rd Ave, a police officer says he saw Jones walk by a doorway where two homeless men were sleeping. The 6'8" tall 250 pound Jones allegedly yelled, "Wake up" and then stomped on the leg of one of the men. Police followed Jones and arrested him about a block away. The 46-year-old victim suffered a minor leg injury. - (Drudge link)

    Black Oroville man charged in beating his white pregnant girlfriend to death pleads
Olabaku JonesAbby Tucker,OROVILLE, Calif. - Wednesday morning an Oroville man accused of beating his pregnant girlfriend to death pleaded not guilty to a murder charge. A group of the victim's friends rallied outside the courthouse, vowing to get justice. Olabaku Jones, 43, entered his plea in Butte County Court Wednesday morning. He is charged with murder in the death of his girlfriend Abby Tucker, 33. Last week Jones was initially arraigned on assault charges, after Tucker was hospitalized with severe head injuries. Deputies said she was found beaten June 24 at the home the couple shared in the 2100 block of Spencer Street in Oroville. The charges were upgraded once Tucker passed away after three days in the hospital. When the charges were read in court during his first appearance last week, Jones replied "just give me the injection." After her death, investigators determined she was 4-6 weeks pregnant when she died. Investigators believe she may not have known she was pregnant at the time of her death. - (Black-on-white)

    Police Search For 4th Suspect Wanted In Attempted Murder Of Two San Bernardino Officers
James LovePolice Friday were searching for a suspect wanted in an attempted murder of two San Bernardino police officers. The incident happened on July 26 around 9:12 p.m. when the officers initiated a traffic stop near Sierra Way and Baseline Boulevard. The driver, 29-year-old James Love (pictured), reportedly pulled his vehicle into the Fame Liquor store parking lot and his passenger, 22-year-old Eric Newson got out and began shooting at officers. Keijuan Mayfield, 22, also exited the vehicle armed with a semi-auto handgun, officials said. The officers returned fire, hitting both suspects. The two men were taken to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. One officer was hit in the leg and also transported.

    Man accused of kidnapping, raping woman inside Muslim funeral home
David ClayKNOXVILLE, Tenn. Two Muslim men said the building is used as a funeral home for the Muslim community. It's where the bodies are washed before they're buried. But Knoxville police said something else - something terrible - happened in the building around 5:30 Wednesday afternoon when David Clay - a homeless, registered sex offender - grabbed a woman by her throat, pulled her inside and raped her.

    2 held in Portland rape, wrench beating
Bradley Ritmiller (left) and Bobby AllsupPORTLAND, Ore. — Two men are behind bars after allegedly raping two homeless women in Portland, then beating one of them with a wrench. Bradley Ritmiller and Bobb Alsup were arrested and this week indicted by a Multnomah County grand jury. Police said the assaults happened within an hour of each other. It’s alleged the men met the two women, 44 and 27, near SE 82nd and Powell. The women suffered injuries to their faces and chests. Ritmiller, 21, and Alsup, 20, face sodomy, rape and kidnap charges.

    Pimping suspects arrested in Santa Ana, Anaheim
Michael Wayne Greer and Jaylin Juwan MarshallSANTA ANA, Calif. -- Two men were arrested Wednesday in Santa Ana after an undercover sting revealed they were holding underage girls against their will and using them as prostitutes. Jaylin Juwan Marshall, a 20-year-old Sacramento resident, and Michael Wayne Greer, a 24-year-old Sacramento resident, are facing charges of pimping a minor for prostitution and human trafficking of a minor. The investigation came after undercover detectives met a girl online who was advertised as being in her 20s. They arranged to meet her for sex at the Red Roof Inn in Santa Ana. When the officer arrived, police say the girl was actually 17 years old, and in the bathroom, they found a 16-year-old girl. Detectives say the girls were very happy to see them, calling them their heroes.

    High-risk Colorado prison parolee accused of raping a 12-year-old girl in Aurora
Raheem HawkinsAURORA, Colo. - A convicted Colorado felon classified as a high-risk parolee is back behind bars, accused of raping a 12-year-old girl in Aurora. Raheem Hawkins, 20, was on parole at the time of the alleged rape after serving time in the state Department of Corrections for robbery and forgery. He was released from prison in April.

    Flash: Police arrest man again for public park exposure incidents in Port St. Lucie
Arthur Lee TisdaleFla. -- Police arrested a 34-year-old man for exposing and propositioning himself to Kiwanis Park visitors, just six months after he was arrested on similar charges in Peacock Park. Arthur Lee Tisdale, of Port St. Lucie was arrested on warrants based on witness reports from July 27 incidents in Kiwanis Park. Port St. Lucie police report that two girls aged 14 and 16 saw Tisdale expose himself while watching them. And a 40-year-old woman said Tisdale asked her to go into the bathroom with him. When she refused, he left the park. Tisdale was arrested Jan. 27 after several witnesses reported him exposing himself at Peacock Park on two occasions.

    Flash: Police say man exposed genitals when asked if he had a weapon
Charles R. Miles LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A man who police said smelled strongly of alcoholic beverages made quite a scene at a Louisville convenience store Thursday and he is now facing charges. According to the arrest report, 28-year-old Charles R. Miles became involved in a verbal dispute with employees of Shorty's Food Mart over trouble he was having with his child's mother. Police were called to the food mart and when they arrived, officers said Miles was yelling at a woman who was sitting in a car. Officers approached Miles and asked him if he had any weapons on his person, police said that's when Miles pulled down his shorts and underwear, pulled up his shirt and began yelling "I ain't got s*** on me." When Miles dropped trou and lifted his shirt, officers at the scene said he exposed his genitals to a number of patrons, including juveniles.

Antwoin Thompson Indianapolis Metropolitan Police arrested a man Friday accused of sexually assaulting a girl on the playground. Detectives arrested 21-year-old Antwoin Thompson after police say he lured a 13-year-old girl away from the playground to an area behind a recreation center. During the incident, the victim’s younger brother walked behind the building and scared Thompson off. Police later arrested Thompson and charged him with child molestation, a Class A felony.

    Flash: Police arrest serial flasher accused of flashing 5-year-old
Dea WilliamsGASTONIA, N.C. — A suspected serial flasher on probation for indecent exposure cut off his ankle bracelet before he allegedly exposed himself to a woman, her brother and a 5-year-old boy. Dea Williams faced a judge Friday on charges of resisting arrest and indecent exposure. Police said Williams exposed himself to the victim and her brother while they were waiting for an appointment outside a lawyer's office in Gastonia. Friday, that woman, Paulette Broyles, said her nephew was also in the car and witnessed the incident. "He raised his shirt and showed his whole private area. I just said, 'What?' I freaked out, because this baby was in the car with me," Broyles said, while hugging her nephew. Thursday's arrest was Williams' eighth for indecent exposure. He was convicted in July for flashing a woman in a church parking lot and for exposing himself inside a non-profit center that helps sex abuse victims, according to prosecutors.

 


    Public’s Help Sought In Identifying 5 Suspects In Robbery At Palmdale 7-Eleven
Black men between 16 and 28 years oldPALMDALE — Detectives were seeking the public’s help Friday in identifying five suspects wanted in a robbery at a 7-Eleven store in Palmdale. The incident occurred around 1:10 a.m. on July 29 when a 19-year-old man was attacked as he exited the store in the 700 block of East Palmdale Boulevard. The victim was riding away on his bicycle when one suspect asked to use his cell phone. He turned around and another suspect walked behind him and punched him in the neck, detectives said. The suspects are all described as Black men between 16 and 28 years old, between 5 feet 3 inches tall and 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing between 140 and 160 pounds.

 

 
  • Hattiesburg man murdered after apparent home invasion
    One of three witnesses said the residents heard a knock on the door, and when she opened the door three black males dressed in black with their faces covered enter the home.     "Jester" pleads guilty to 2011 murder
Cadereo Eugene JesterChristine ArnoldA Gary man who was linked to a 2011 homicide by a DNA database hit has pleaded guilty to murder in exchange for a 45-year prison sentence. Cadereo Eugene Jester, 26, admitted he killed Christine Arnold following a dispute on July 18, 2011, in the 300 block of Hovey Street in Gary. Jester then disposed of Arnold’s body and car in the Ivanhoe Nature Conservancy near 4th Avenue and Hamlin Street in Gary. - (Black-on-white)
   

    Wanted: Suspect who attacked woman in Medical Center parking garage
Edward Johnson HOUSTON — Police are looking for the suspect who assaulted an M.D. Anderson employee inside a Texas Medical Center garage. The victim was attacked around 8:30 a.m. on Friday, July 26, after parking on the 4th floor of garage 10. Police say Edward Johnson ambushed her, but she fought back. "She struggled against him, trying to get him away from her, kept making noise, honking the horn," said Inspector Stefan Happ with the UT Police Department. Johnson fled on foot. Police think he wanted the victim’s purse and cell phone, or possibly her car. Police have been posting fliers to warn others to be on the lookout for Johnson, 31. They say he could be armed and dangerous. Johnson is African-American.

    Homeless man raped and kidnapped her for 5 hours
Northwest Knoxville - A homeless man is facing aggravated rape and aggravated kidnapping charges after a victim told police he held her captive for five hours in northwest Knoxville Tuesday. The victim said David Freeman Clay, 58, grabbed her by the throat and pulled her into a building on the 1800 block of Ailor Avenue at about 5:30 p.m. She was unable to call for help because Clay choked her. Clay allegedly violently raped her inside the building and struck her head against a wall, knocking her unconscious. The victim said Clay threatened her with an object, which appeared to be a knife, while holding her against her will. At about 10:30 p.m., the victim escaped from the building with the suspect's cell phone, and called police.

    Church volunteer accused of inappropriately touching girl
Meredith Delynn Cromartie Jr.Raleigh, N.C. — Police have arrested a man accused of inappropriately touching a 12-year-old girl at a nonprofit organization in Raleigh. Meredith Delynn Cromartie Jr., 20, of Raleigh, faces two counts of indecent liberties with a child. The alleged crimes happened July 18 at the Dream Center of Body of Christ Church, a church-outreach facility on Fox Road, where sources tell WRAL News Cromartie was volunteering. He was jailed Monday under a $30,000 secured bond. Cromartie was also arrested last year on charges of impersonating a law enforcement officer.

 

    Teen's killer sentenced to prison
Kaleel Spencer Mayhan NORFOLK, Va. - An 18-year-old Norfolk man will spend the next several years behind bars for killing another teen. Kaleel Spencer Mayhan was sentenced to seven years in prison with three and a half suspended, leaving three and a half to serve. Mayhan pled guilty in May to one count of involuntary manslaughter in the death of 17-year-old Clifton Little, Jr. Mayhan was originally charged with murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The firearm charge was later nolle prosequi.

    Affidavit: Goose Creek bar shooting suspect fired shotgun at point-blank range
Jason GourdineMONCKS CORNER, SC -Staff members said they were closing up for the night when two black males entered the bar early last Sunday and asked for a drink. "They showed up at last call and were refused service and [they] got upset we refused service," said Daniel Chenoweth, the owner of the bar. Chenoweth said their anger quickly turned to violence. "They called the bartender racist and basically came back out to the parking lot, changed their clothes, and shot three of our customers," said Chenoweth. Deputies say a shotgun was used in the incident. Court documents released Wednesday evening stated Gourdine fired the shotgun at the victims at "point-blank range."
   

    (Black) Man Charged With Shooting Hispanic Pastor Is Under $1.5 Million Bond
Travis MartinA 23-year-old man charged with shooting an Hispanic pastor is under bonds totaling $1.5 million. General Sessions Court Judge Gary Starnes raised the bonds for Travis Martin after hearing proof about the June 17 incident at an Hispanic store Santos Morales, pastor of a nearby Pentecostal Church of God, was shot through the side when he tried to intervene in an armed robbery. Three juveniles - ages 17, 13 and 13 - were also charged with attempted first-degree murder and especially aggravated robbery. Pastor Morales said he walked from his church to the nearby store that serves smoothies. He said Petronilo Gabriel was also inside when three young black males came in the door. He said when they entered, a small child went outside. He said he went out to retrieve the child. He said when he returned he saw that Martin had placed a gun on his friend and was demanding money. He said he asked him, "Don't do anything to hurt us." The pastor said he reached for the gunman's hand, but he moved back. He said Martin stated, "You're going to die," then pulled the trigger. The victim was treated and released at a local hospital. The bullet went through him and came out. The witness said there was a fourth young black male out by a van. All ran after the shooting, but they were apprehended a short time later.

    Police Arrest 5 In Fatal Senatobia Home Invasion

McNealKristie FarrowDevonta Orlando PipkinQuinn Anthony McNeal MS - Senatobia police have arrested five people in connection with a slaying during a home invasion robbery earlier this month. The Commercial Appeal reports 27-year-old LaShaundra L. McNeal, 20-year-old Kristie Farrow, 18-year-old Devonta Orlando Pipkin, 22-year-old Nicholas Fitzgerald Sledge and 20-year-old Quinn Anthony McNeal all face capital murder charges related to the shooting death of 36-year-old Edgar Gomez. Gomez was found shot to death on July 8 inside his mobile home in Senatobia. Investigators said he was able to call police from his cellphone, but by the time police arrived he had died from two gunshot wounds and the suspects were gone.

    Brandon Apartment Shooting Over Basketball Game
Robert ClarkeBrandon police responded to a shooting last night, around 8:45pm, at the Brandon Hills Apartments. Police learned upon arrival, that Dillan Wilson, 21, had been shot in the abdomen and had been taken to the Crossgates River Oaks Hospital by a friend. Robert Clarke, 27, was arrested by police and is being held in the Rankin County Jail for aggravated assault. Wilson was listed as being in fair condition at UMC Hospital. Police say it appears the shooting stemmed from an altercation during a basketball game.

 

    2 burglars caught in the act
Dashawn Patrick SloneMarkeal MooreNASHVILLE, Tenn. - Two men were caught in the act when police responding to a burglary in progress early Wednesday morning. Around 3:55 a.m., 21-year-old Dashawn Patrick Slone and 18-year-old Markeal Moore tried to enter a home in the 900 block of Ireland Street. The door was locked, however, and a witness heard noises and watched as they attempted to break into another nearby residence. Dashawn and Slone managed to raise the window just as officers arrived, and ran into shrubs to hide themselves.

    Police: Mom got high, left boy in garbage bin
Brittany CiccottiLIVE OAK, Texas - Police said a young child found was in a garbage bin and his mother was arrested for child abandonment. Police also said the mother was high on synthetic marijuana. It happened Tuesday night in the 200 block of Shin Oak in Live Oak. Sgt. Anita Seamans said the woman,identified as 21-year-old Brittany Ciccotti, was arrested and charged with abandoning a child, a second degree felony. "She has put him in a garbage can in the driveway of a home and by the grace of God, the child made enough noise in this can and somebody found him," said Sgt. Seamans.

Kevin Corley both pled guilty to murder-for-hire charges, crimes committed while they were on active duty.Mexican cartels are recruiting hit men from the U.S. military, offering big money to highly-trained soldiers to carry out contract killings and potentially share their skills with gangsters south of the border, according to law enforcement experts. The involvement of three American soldiers in separate incidents, including a 2009 murder that led to last week’s life sentence for a former Army private, underscore a problem the U.S. military has fought hard to address. Former Army Private Michael Apodaca (l.) and ex-Lt. Kevin Corley both pled guilty to murder-for-hire charges, crimes committed while they were on active duty.


   

Accused Latin King 'cop shooter' facing life in prison freed without bail after judge deems trial delayed too long
Pablo NegronA Latin King ex-con who faces life in prison for allegedly shooting at a Brooklyn cop during a bar fight was freed without bail this week because prosecutors failed to start his trial fast enough, court documents show. Pablo Negron, 24 — who has two past convictions for violently attacking cops — walked away from Rikers after two years Tuesday when a Brooklyn Supreme Court judge ruled that prosecutors had exceeded the time limit to bring their attempted-murder case against him.
