    "Insane" black rapist committed to state mental hospital
STAMFORD -- A city man declared insane in January and acquitted of trying to rape a woman outside a downtown church -- having part of his tongue bitten off by the woman he attacked -- was committed to a state mental hospital. At an appearance at state Superior Court in Stamford on Thursday, Gerard Michael Landon, 48, was ordered to spend 25 years at the maximum-security Whiting Forensic Institute in Middletown.

    Mississippi officer was killed with his own gun: police
Jeremy Powell JACKSON, Mississippi - A murder suspect who killed a veteran Mississippi police detective at police headquarters in Jackson on Thursday wrangled with the officer during questioning and shot him with his own gun before killing himself, police said on Friday. The 23-year-old suspect was being interviewed in the course of a murder investigation, according to police. "The detective, Eric Smith, was overpowered and shot with his own weapon, and the apparent shooter, Jeremy Powell, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound," said Warren Strain, spokesman for the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.

    Man Sexually Assaulted Elderly Mother (Incest, fornication)
Thomas Lewis HaywoodA man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly sexually assaulting his elderly mother at her East Austin home. Thomas Lewis Haywood, 67, is charged with aggravated sexual assault, a first degree felony. Court documents say the 85-year-old victim had been asleep in her bedroom and woke up to her son standing over her. She told him to get out of her room and tried to push him out, but he told her that he "liked" her and sexually assaulted her. When Haywood left the room she was able to lock the door. She told investigators she wasn't able to immediately call the police because the phone was dead and there was no dial tone. She fell asleep again, but woke up to her son lying next to her. She contacted the police and when they interviewed her son he said that his girlfriend had left him and he was sad so he went into his mother's room and started touching her to be comforted. He admitted that he got "carried away," according to the affidavit.

Shawn Eric Ford, Jr. was charged Thursday with murder, robbery and grand theft for the brutal attack on his girlfriend's parents. New Franklin Police say Ford beat Jeffrey and Margaret Schobert to death with a sledgehammer. The couple was found murdered in their Rex Lake Drive home Tuesday afternoon by a construction crew.     Hagerstown (black) Man Charged In Rape & Stabbing
Montague SutherlandHagerstown police have made an arrest in a rape and stabbing that happened on Security Road last month. Montague Sutherland is charged with first and second degree rape and assault. Police say they found the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds on the 900-block of Security Road on the morning of March 5th. She told police she had been raped by a black man who broke into her home.

    Columbus Man Charged With Kidnapping, Rape
Shakir H. GantA Columbus man is behind bars charged with two counts of kidnapping and one count of rape. The two female victims, ages 19 and 20, told Columbus Police that Shakir H. Gant, 23, got into their vehicle around 3:00 a.m. Thursday and forced them to drive around at gunpoint. The victims said Gant threatened to shoot them if they didn't cooperate.

    Man Recently Released From Prison For Rape Arrested Again For Allegedly Stealing SUV
Paul FordPaul Ford was charged with receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony, after he allegedly stole an SUV from Columbus. Ford, 52, was recently released from prison after being convicted of five counts of rape, one count of gross sexual imposition and one count of kidnapping. Police said that Ford was found with a number of condoms.

The grand jury also indicted a man, also with a violent history, accused of an assault on an 87-year-old woman and issued a rape indictment in another sexual assault case as well. Floyd Tyrone Coates Jr., 46, is accused in a Jan. 21 rape of a woman. In another case, Willie Nard Grant, 39, was wanted at that time in connection with a sexual assault in that city. In another sexual assault case, Rodney Brushaun Frazier is accused of raping a Moultrie woman and using a pistol in sexually assaulting her two additional times.

Sheriff's deputies arrested a local church's youth worker Thursday and charged him with raping a 12-year-old. Deputies said there could be more victims. Jahaziel Levi Rodriguez Vazquez, who also goes by the name Armando Pacheco, got to know the child through his work at the church.


 


    Black convicted of rape - and still suspected in the rape and murder of young white neighbor woman
Antoine GarnerBUFFALO, N.Y - A man long suspected in the death of Amanda Wienckowski has pleaded guilty to a laundry list of disturbing charges. Antoine Garner, 26, pleaded guilty Wednesday to three counts of third degree rape and three counts of third degree criminal sexual act. Garner admitted that between December 2008 and January 2009, he repeatedly raped and sodomized a 16-year-old girl, which resulted in the girl becoming pregnant. Though Garner has long been suspected in the death of Amanda Wienckowski, he has never been charged. Wienckowski's naked body was found upside-down in a garbage tote, her hair shorn off, in January 2009. She had been missing for five weeks previously. The tote was right across the street from Garner's house. He is the last person known to have seen her alive.

    Black minister with 'money worries' painted racial slurs on his house then burned it down to fake a hate crime
 Olander D. Cuthrell A minister at a Virginia church faces charges of setting his house and car in Chesterfield County on fire. Chesterfield County police had investigated the fires as a possible hate crime because a racial slur had been painted on the house. Police believe 41-year-old Olander D. Cuthrell, who is black, painted the slurs on his home before he set it on fire. - (Drudge link)

 

    Man charged with homo rape of 10-year-old boy - criminal transmission of HIV (AIDS) to a child
Kelley Major CooperDANIA BEACH, Fla. -- A Dania Beach man is charged with criminal transmission of HIV to a child that he is accused of raping, officials said. Kelley Major Cooper, 46, is being held at Broward's Main Jail. Broward Judge John "Jay" Hurley ordered a $5 million bond Wednesday for that charge against Cooper and then revoked bail. HIV is a virus that can be managed with medication but has no cure, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says on its website. HIV may lead to Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome, or AIDS, which may weaken cells that fight disease. Patients may develop infections or cancer, the CDC says. Cooper is also charged with two counts of sexual battery on a child, lewd or lascivious molestation and kidnapping, a Broward Sheriff Office complaint affidavit states.

Kelley Cooper, 46, was arrested Tuesday and is facing two counts of sexual battery on a child, one count of kidnapping, criminal transmission of HIV and lewd or lascivious molestation, according to a Broward Sheriff's Office arrest report.

    Man charged with sexual assault after woman responds to his job ad
Garry Dwayne BogaAn Arkansas man who posed as a musician was charged Tuesday with allegedly sexually assaulting a 21-year-old Illinois woman in Glendale after she responded to his Craigslist job posting for a personal assistant, police said. Garry Dwayne Boga, who also used the name “Tavion,” faces one felony count of sexual penetration by a foreign object, felony sexual battery by fraud, two felony counts of assault on his cohabitant and felony robbery, according to a Los Angeles County Superior Court criminal complaint. While Boga, 27, was charged in only one incident, Glendale police detectives believe he may have other victims because they found a detailed list with names of young women who were mostly from the Midwest and may have come to Los Angeles in hopes of becoming Hollywood stars, Sgt. Tom Lorenz said.

Wilson said of the allegations against Tikee Beverly, who was ordered held on $1 million cash bail following his arraignment on 13 counts of rape, aggravated rape and kidnapping and robbery stemming from five different sexual assaults between September and February. Suffolk Assistant District Patrick Devlin told the magistrate that investigators are looking into additional charges against Wilson, whose attacks he described as “vile, sick, morally reprehensible rapes by a true serial rapist.”

 

    Chicago cop commits suicide after rape allegation
Edgar NealA Chicago police officer took his own life while sources say he was under investigation for the rape of a 17-year-old girl. Chicago police confirm a rape was reported this weekend on the block where the officer lived. The medical examiner confirms it was a self-inflicted gunshot wound that ended the life of 48-year-old Edgar Neal a 26-year veteran of the force. A woman says her 17-year-old daughter was at a drinking party with school friends and one of them took her to another man's house. "She told me my daughter had been raped by a police officer," the woman said.

Samsuldeen AjimotokanA student who offered lifts to two female acquaintances, only to drive to a secluded spot and force them to perform oral sex, has been sentenced to five years in jail. “I regard the offender as a dangerous man,” Ontario Superior Court Justice Robert Goldstein said. “He appears to regard women as chattels.” Samsuldeen Ajimotokan appeared increasingly agitated as the judge gave his reasons for sentence, and after Goldstein left the courtroom, he spat out a foul epithet toward his two victims, sitting in court. Ajimotokan offered a ride to a fellow Centennial College student and drove to a private carport where he forced her to perform oral sex. The next night, he offered a ride to another acquaintance and took her to a private parking lot and forced her to perform oral sex in his car. He attempted sexual intercourse, but failed. He drove to a second location and again failed in an attempt at intercourse, so he again compelled her to perform oral sex. - (Canada)

    N.Y. State Assemblyman Eric Stevenson Arrested On Bribery Charges
Eric StevensonBronx Assemblyman Eric Stevenson, sold out by one of his corrupt colleagues, was charged Thursday with pocketing nearly $20,000 in bribes to boost the launch of an adult day care center. Stevenson was busted with the cooperation of Assemblyman Nelson Castro, a fellow Bronx Democrat, according to the 38-page court filing and sources familiar with the matter. Stevenson, a two-term assemblyman re-elected just five months ago, was arrested Thursday morning in the city’s latest political corruption scandal. According to the criminal complaint, Stevenson accepted one cash-stuffed envelope outside a Bronx steakhouse and a second from a cooperating witness who was once an assembly candidate — but now worked for the adult home.

   

Israel Romero accused of fleeing to Honduras last year after sexually assaulting 13-year-old girl
A Plainfield man accused of fleeing to Honduras last year after sexually assaulting 13-year-old girl who became pregnant was arrested just after he re-entered the country and traveling on a train in Texas, authorities said today. Israel Romero, 39, was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault of a minor and two counts of second-degree sexual assault of a minor. Romero assaulted the girl in his home when she was 12 and again after she turned 13. The girl became pregnant, and later disclosed the attacks to her family, who called police, the prosecutor said.


   

 

   

Hua Jun Zhao stole US cancer data to take to China
When three vials of a possible cancer-fighting compound disappeared recently from a professor's desk at the Medical College of Wisconsin, suspicion quickly fell on a research assistant who had been working in the scientist's lab. Security video showed Hua Jun Zhao, who studied in China and whose wife lives there, was the only person who entered the professor's office that day. Investigators later found research results from another professor on Zhao's computer. Zhao has been charged in a federal complaint with economic espionage, accused by prosecutors stealing academic research to pass off as his own in China.

Anthony Pratt, 19, of Far Rockaway, Queens, N.Y., was taken into custody Tuesday in Queens after being questioned by Portland police detectives The chief declined to offer details about what events transpired to lead to the slaying, but said Pratt and Scott were dating at the time of the killing and said police have ascribed “domestic violence overtones” and “drug activity” to the incident. He also said more arrests may be coming in the case.     Pittsburgh mayoral candidate A.J. Richardson arrested
A.J. Richardson A self-described community activist running an underdog campaign for mayor may be an even longer shot now that he's been charged with driving under the influence. A.J. Richardson, 36, was arrested early Wednesday in Pittsburgh's West End. Police say they found him slumped over the wheel of his green minivan that was stopped on Steuben Street with the engine still running at about 3 a.m. According to the criminal complaint, Richardson refused a blood test and "became verbally hostile stating that he was going to be mayor repeatedly."

    Ex-KSU employee charged with conspiracy to defraud state
A former Kennesaw State University employee was arrested Thursday night and charged with conspiracy to defraud the state. Gerald Donaldson, former executive director of environmental health and safety at KSU, was allegedly part of a crime ring that created “shell companies” to conduct fraud of almost $1 million, including within the unit he managed, the university said in a press release. Five other people have been charged in the case.

    High School Student Arrested At School, Charged With Rape
Darious Deion Paul Bonton Ala. – Florence Police arrested a Brooks High School senior in class Tuesday morning. The teen is charged with rape and sexual abuse. According to investigators, 18-year-old Darious Deion Paul Bonton was arrested for an alleged rape after the Brooks High School prom in March. It happened after a party in a hotel room.

The appearance changed nothing about allegations he raped a 13-year-old middle school student in February and committed separate acts of robbery, assault and burglary last year.

Samuel Benjamin Arthur, 41, of the 300 block of York Avenue in Lansdale, faces a total of 54 charges, including two counts of felony rape of a child, two counts of felony rape by forcible compulsion, two counts of felony statutory sexual assault, five counts of felony aggravated indecent assault of a child, five counts of misdemeanor indecent assault, one count of felony endangering the welfare of children, one count of misdemeanor terroristic threats and more.

Hays County rape suspect Angel Hernandez captured
Angel Hernandez Officers arrested 21-year-old Angel Hernandez in the 2400 block of Dovehill Drive in South Austin. Hernandez was wanted in connection to the sexual assault of two female victims at a party in Kyle. According to investigators, the victims were given alcohol but became more intoxicated than they should have been after the amount they drank. Both of the women passed out and said they woke up with two suspects sexually assaulting them.


   

DNA helps solve 1996 rape, murder of North Philadelphia teen
Rafael CrespoThe case of a rape and murder of a 17-year-old girl that has been cold for nearly 17 years was solved this week thanks to DNA evidence. On Oct. 2, 1996, officers found 17-year-old Anjeanette Maldonado dead in North Philadelphia. Her murder remained unsolved until Monday, when police say a DNA sample obtained during the investigation and entered into the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Combined DNA Index System came up as a match to a convicted man in Florida. Rafael Crespo, 46, whose DNA matched that found at the crime scene where the teen’s body was found, was charged Monday with murder, rape, sexual assault and related offenses in the nearly two-decade-old case.

    Priest's rape appeal denied
Gary MercureA Massachusetts appellate court on Tuesday rejected the appeal of a former Albany Roman Catholic Diocese priest who was convicted of raping altar boys during trips to Berkshire County in the 1980s. Gary Mercure, 65, was sentenced to more than 20 years in prison for his 2011 conviction on charges he raped two boys that he drove to Massachusetts on hiking and skiing trips. The victims were altar boys for Mercure at Our Lady of Annunciation parish in Warren County


    Trial set for high school basketball coach accused of sex with several female students
Shawn JohnsonHICKORY, NC - A former high school basketball coach has been given a trial date after he was accused of statutory rape with several female students last year. Former Hickory High School's basketball coach Shawn Johnson will be on trial on September 23, 2013. Johnson was indicted by a grand jury in with five counts of indecent liberties with a student. A month before, Johnson has been charged with statutory rape charge for an incident involving a separate student. Officers were called by the officials with Hickory Public Schools after an allegation of a sexual nature made against Johnson in May by a current student. During the investigation, police learned of other allegations between 2007 and 2009. Johnson was charged with four counts of Statutory Rape of a person under 15-years-old occurring in 2007 and 2008 along with another count of Sexual Activity with a Student by a Teacher in 2009.

    Jacksonville arrests made in gang rape
Travis Devon MayeA 22-year-old Southside Jacksonville man and three teens were arrested early Sunday after a woman was gang-raped Thursday by five men, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. Travis Devon Maye was charged with false imprisonment and sexual battery in the Thursday night rape, according to arrest records. The charges against a 15-year-old boy and two 16-year-olds, all from the Southside, were unavailable because they are minors.

    Driver Charged With Dragging Philadelphia Officer Has Prior Police Record
Naim Woodley A man from Philadelphia’s Logan neighborhood has been charged in connection with driving a car that dragged a Philadelphia police officer three blocks. But this isn’t the first time the 20-year-old has been in trouble with the law. The district attorney’s office has charged Naim Woodley with simple assault, reckless endangerment, and resisting arrest. Woodley was already scheduled to go on trial April 9th for assault and robbery, charges that stem from an attack on a man in March 2012.

Kenneth Harris Kathy Sniecinski Charlie Blackmore43-year-old Kenneth Harris of Milwaukee has been charged with substantial battery for an incident in which he allegedly beat his 'ex-girlfriend' Kathy Sniecinski. Harris went over to the woman’s home, and the two left the home together — walking toward a bus stop. Harris then struck the woman to her face with a closed fist, causing her to fall to the ground. Harris then began to repeatedly strike the woman, causing a fractured left orbital bone and numerous bruises. Charlie Blackmore, a Marine Corps veteran was able to stop Harris from nearly kicking the woman to death, and Wisconsin’s concealed carry law made his efforts possible.

    NOPD seeks 2 men in Milneburg rape, releases sketches of suspects
rapistsNew Orleans police released sketches Monday of two men wanted in connection with a rape in the Milneburg neighborhood, in Gentilly. The rape occurred March 20 about 8 a.m. at the corner of St. Roch Avenue and Mexico Street, police said. The suspects were seen in a white, older model, four-door Toyota Camry, with tinted windows, factory rims and duct tape on the right passenger rear window and door with gold Toyota emblems.

Alfard Mullins Alfard Mullins, 34, of 101 Mallory Lane, was charged with several felony counts including first-degree rape of a child and incest. A Polk County grand jury returned 21 true bills of indictment against Mullins. He was indicted for one count of first-degree rape of a child, six counts of first-degree sexual offense, six counts of indecent liberties with a child, six counts of felony child abuse-sexual act, one count of incest and one count of incest with a child under 13.

The reported abduction occurred that afternoon as the child played in her yard near the area of Buckley Avenue and Garber Way, near East Panama Lane and South Union Avenue in southeast Bakersfield. The man forced the girl to an isolated area and sexually assaulted her before running off, the sheriff's office said.

Aaron ThomasThe New Haven man known as the 'East Coast Rapist' has been hit with two additional life sentences this week for kidnapping and raping a woman in Virginia in 2001. Police say Aaron Thomas committed 17 rapes and other sexual assaults in Virginia, Maryland, Rhode Island and Connecticut. The attacks happened between 1997 and 2009. Thomas was sentenced earlier this month to three life sentences for an attack on three teens in Virginia in 2009.

A third man, aged 21, was arrested for the attacks, which took place over six hours starting shortly after midnight on Saturday, police said in a Tuesday statement. Two men aged 20 and 22 had already been taken into custody for the attacks, police said. and a young Brazilian woman has come forward to say that she, too, was raped by the same men in the van on March 23.

UNA Police Chief Bob Pastula said victim stated several men forced her to have sex when she went to visit Harrison at Rivers Hall on Saturday night. She stated that Byrd and Harrison took turns forcing themselves on her. She went to the hospital for treatment. Florence Police also arrested Harris, who allegedly participated

Rasoul K. Hanner A 20-year-old Dover man was arrested after he allegedly threatened a teenage rape victim he had a consensual sexual encounter with, city police said. Rasoul K. Hanner was originally charged with fourth-degree rape after a statutory incident in early 2013, Dover Police Department Lt. Daniel J. McKeown said. Police began an investigation into the incident in late March, police said. Mr. Hanner was also charged with harassment after violating a no-contact order by repeatedly threatening the victim, police said.

Haamid Ade Zaid was booked into the Santa Clara County jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, hit and run, being under the influence of drugs and resisting arrest, according to the San Jose Police Department. Zaid is being held without bail in connection with the chaotic attack that rattled an Easter Sunday shopping crowd and ended with four people injured, one seriously. A Walmart employee was among the victims.

Jermario Tywhunn Jefferson, 36, of Shreveport, was arrested Saturday after an investigation found Jefferson engaged in a sexual act with the teen the previous day at the shelter in the 4800 block of Shed Road, a police release said. The victim was a resident at the shelter where Jefferson was employed as a shift supervisor.

    Officers stop home invasion, attempted rape in Burlington
Jerry Lee Johnson Police say they arrested a convicted sex offender after interrupting a home invasion and attempted rape in Burlington. Officers responded at 11:59 p.m. Saturday to a report of a burglary in-progress at an apartment. When they arrived, police say the officers found that the front door of the apartment had been forced open. Police say the officers heard a woman “screaming for help” inside the apartment. The officers went inside, at which point they encountered a man who was assaulting the woman. The man attempted to run away, but he was arrested without further incident. The suspect was later identified as 43-year-old Jerry Lee Johnson of Burlington.

    Sex offender accused of exposing himself for fifth time
Dea Donja Williams A registered sex offender exposed and played with himself Monday morning in front of the Gaston County Probation Office, according to police. A Dallas woman told police she and her teenage daughter witnessed the vulgar act from their car. Dea Donja Williams was picked up Tuesday afternoon and charged with indecent exposure. This marks Williams’ fifth arrest for the same offense. According to the Gaston County Sheriff’s Office, Williams was arrested for indecent exposure twice in 2011 and twice in 2012.

Bryan GreshamA man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting two women while posing as a police officer. San Antonio Police believe there may be more victims out there. According to the arrest affidavit, 26-year-old Bryan Gresham found these women on social websites, through ads they posted advertising escort services. One of the victims told police that Gresham met her at a local motel last month claiming he was as a police officer running a prostitution sting. The victim claims he told her to perform sexual acts on him and in return she wouldn't go to jail. The victim told police Gresham sexually assaulted her.

 

   

Child rapist Eduardo Olea Herrera found on bus to Mexico
Eduardo Olea HerreraA man wanted on child abuse and statutory rape charges was arrested before trying to flee the country, police said. Investigators were told that Eduardo Olea Herrera was sexually abusing a juvenile family member at his home, according to Winston-Salem police. Officers issued warrants for five counts of statutory rape and five counts of felony child abuse. Herrera left his home that day and fled to Atlanta, Ga. Investigators found him on a bus on Buford Highway in Atlanta headed to Mexico, police said. Herrera is now in the DeKalb County jail and while awaiting extradition to Forsyth County.

This transpired at the trial of Moeketsi Hopolong Mokoena, 34, in the Free State High Court on Monday, reported Volksblad. Mokoena stands accused of murdering Jan van Wyk, 82, from the farm Jakkalsfontein in 2009. Court documents showed that some of his body parts were found in a pan in his farmhouse where Mokoena was busy cooking them.

    Barstow police use Taser to subdue expelled legislator
Steven Brooks Hours after his historic expulsion from the Nevada Assembly, former legislator Steven Brooks was arrested Thursday night in California. San Berardino (Calif.) County records confirm that Brooks was arrested on Interstate 15 after taking several law enforcement agencies on a high-speed chase. California Highway Patrol officials say Brooks threw metal objects out of his window at police. Police had to use spike strips to stop the vehicle, after which officials surrounded the SUV. Brooks was placed in restraints and taken away on a gurney. Brooks was arrested for resisting a peace officer with force, willful harm to a police service dog, felony evading and for throwing objects from a vehicle.

    Brunswick city commissioner arrested in connection to fatal shooting of baby in stroller
Antonio SantiagoJames Henry Brooks Sr. Brunswick City Commissioner James Henry Brooks Sr. has been arrested in connection to the investigation of the fatal shooting of a Brunswick toddler, Brooks (pictured), 59, turned himself into the Glynn County Detention Center. Brooks' wife drove him to jail. He was released Friday morning after posting $5,000 bond on the condition he surrender himself to the Camden County Sheriff's Office by noon Monday to answer a racketeering indictment there. Brooks was charged with willful obstruction of law enforcement and influencing a witness. Tucker also confirmed those charges are related to Antonio Santiago's murder investigation. As for the six-count racketeering indictment, it alleges Brooks was soliciting people to pay him money in return for official acts and influencing others in his role as a city commissioner, including getting people's criminal records expunged so they could get hired by the city, and getting liquor licenses. This isn't the first time Brooks has been in trouble with the law. In January 2012 he was arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation on one count of bribery.

Pittsburgh police said 41-year-old Leon Raymond Walls entered the store and headed toward the restroom. Shortly after, two men came in looking for him, and one of them followed him into the restroom, where he was chased out by the knife-wielding Walls, police said. (Slideshow: Photos from the scene) "Walls, missing his target, then moved towards the checkout area at the Target store where he began trying to stab additional victims who were in the store.
Walls then grabbed Allison Meadows and held her against her will at knifepoint in one of the checkout lanes to use her as a shield. Victims Hosea Davis, Mike Turner, Jobe Wright and Roland Smith attempted to subdue Walls and to free Meadows when they saw him poke the knife into Meadows' back." A witness told Del Greco, "I went back up the top of the steps, and he had this girl by the top of her hair. He just kept screaming, 'I'll stab her again.' He kept stabbing her. Me and like four or five other guys, they ran and tackled him. He cut the one guy's lip almost off. The other guy's finger was, like, hanging off." She is the sister of De'Marquise Elkins, 17, who is in custody for the shooting death of 13-month-old Antonio Santiago. Sabrina Elkins was booked into the Glynn County Detention Center at 11 p.m. Wednesday. The District Attorney's Office says her case will now proceed to Superior Court.

Glynn County police wouldn’t detail what the women might have said, but Katrina Elkins has previously claimed her nephew was with the family on the morning of the shooting. Mom Sherry West was injured and her baby, Antonio Santiago, was killed in the shooting in Brunswick on March 21.

Blakeney was sentenced to between 20 years and 25 years in prison. Prosecutors say he strangled 34-year-old Catherine Blakeney in 2011 and lived in their home with her body for several weeks.
