Undre Beasley arrested in rape, assault cases for allegedly preying on young girls Authorities on both sides of the state line are investigating a Texarkana, Ark., man for allegedly preying on young girls. Undre Beasley, 22, is being held in the Miller County Correctional Facility on charges of rape and sexual assault, according to court documents. The charge of rape was filed in December while the sexual assault charge was filed Friday. The cases involve two different victims. Black Charlotte pimp brothers ran violent sex, drug operation  Brothers Tracy and David Howard were each sentenced Thursday to life in prison without parole for their roles in a Charlotte prostitution and drug ring that forced runaway girls as young as 14 to have sex with up to 10 men a night. Their mother, Ila Howard, accused of operating an escort service and conspiring with her sons in the prostitution business, was sentenced to 17 1/2 years in prison. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
Hakim Valore accused of kidnapping, sexually assaulting and robbing a woman and her babysitter
 Hakim Valore is charged with two counts of first degree sexual assault, two counts of false imprisonment, and two counts of first degree reckless endangerment along with single counts of armed robbery, substantial battery and battery. Valore allegedly broke down the woman's front door, assaulted the male baby sitter with scissors and a steak knife. He then took the babysitter's watch while the mother was out running errands. When the woman returned home, Valore forced both victims into the bedroom and then into the bathroom where he forced them to strip and proceeded to demand the woman perform a sex act with him and with the baby sitter. - (Newsroom) - (crime) |

9 Black Youths Convicted in Halloween Hate-crime Beatings of Three Young White Women  Nine black youths were convicted Friday in juvenile court of beating three white women in a racially charged attack on Halloween night. The youths, ranging from 12 to 18 years old, could receive sentences from probation to confinement in juvenile prison until age 25. All were charged with felony assault. The judge found eight of them guilty of hate crimes. The attack occurred in an upscale area of the city known for its elaborate Halloween decorations. Prosecutors said the confrontation began when a crowd of black youths threw objects at the three young white women.  It took all the courage he could muster for a 21-year-old volunteer firefighter to admit to a female acquaintance that "he had a crush on her," then offer to buy her a cup of coffee, a prosecutor said. So began not only a lasting relationship, but also "the worst night that they could ever possibly imagine," the District Attorney said in her opening statement at the trial of one of three former High School students charged in a horrific rape, beating and robbery. Terrance Terrell, 18, is charged with first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy and other charges for the attack. The graphic details of the incident drew several gasps, tears and outbursts in a crowded courtroom yesterday. Douglas Payton, 18, and Reginald Dugue, 19, have both pleaded guilty to charges.

Puppy Abuse Suspects Plead Guilty Two teenaged brothers abruptly changed their pleas to guilty, Friday, to charges of torturing and killing a puppy in a hot oven last August at the Atlanta apartment complex where they lived. But they still insist they are innocent. Nineteen-year-old Justin Moulder and his 17-year-old brother, Joshua, decided to plead guilty to animal cruelty and all other felony charges not because, their attorneys said, they are guilty, but because they believe the prosecution's evidence against them probably would have convinced the jury to convict them at their upcoming re-trial. "That's a concession," said Timothy Owens, Justin's attorney, "that there is a basis upon which a jury could find him guilty, although he's not admitted guilt to those particular counts.... He maintains that he did not put the puppy in the oven, he was just as horrified as the other kids were supposed to have been,... when he got to the community center, the puppy was [already] in the oven." - (Newsroom) - (crime) |
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Ask For Help Finding Rape Suspect Tavarus Simpson Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are asking for help finding a man wanted for a violent rape in Southwest Charlotte. It's been two weeks since police first asked for help finding Tavarus Simpson. Simpson broke into a home in the Twelve Oaks neighborhood last month, pistol-whipped a father, and raped his daughter. Police believe he's still in the Charlotte area. Sergeant Darrell Price says, "We believe that there are several people who know where he is and who are hiding him and supporting him financially." Liberian lawmaker wanted on child rape charges in US The Child Abuse Unit of the Law Enforcement Division of Long Island in New York has published a bulletin containing full denoscription and detailed personal information of Mr. Kettehkumuehn Earl Murray, a lawmaker representing District number 3 of Montserrado County under the Banner of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) party, alleging he sexually abused a minor in the state of North Carolina, USA in 1996. The bulletin said " Murray was charged with indecent liberties with a child, and attempted rape, and a state arrest warrant was issued on April 15, 1997, in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
