- Illegal immigrant fails to show in court on assault charges
A 25-year-old illegal immigrant jumped bail Friday when he failed to show up to face accusations he molested a 12-year-old girl on several occasions last year. Paulo Sheispan-Landero remained at large late Friday, having been released from custody Tuesday after posting $5,000 bail. He was arrested and booked New Year's Eve after the girl's mother alerted authorities.

In northern Wisconsin, 25-year-old Paulo Sheispan-Landero, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, is charged with first degree sexual assault on a child under 13 — a felony which would fall under Wisconsin's Jessica's Law. According to the criminal complaint the man on three separate occasions molested a 12-year-old girl with his hands. The complaining witnesses are the girl herself and her mother, who was dating Landero. Now Landero has two previous convictions, one for battery, and apparently was deported to Mexico. But the mother says he was back in Wisconsin about a week after that deportation.

I would like to know and why Paulo Sheispan-Landero is being released back into society after posting such a small bail amount. This "man" obviously has no regard for any of the laws of this country as he was already sent back to Mexico and somehow made it back here only a week later. Now he has freedom to leave this country and go back to Mexico. I believe the judge in this case should be thrown right out of court for this blatant disregard for justice. This case goes to show all of us that not all illegal immigrants are here strictly for good reasons; they sometimes are the lowest forms of life on the planet and now a young girl will forever be scarred. This crime would not have occurred if the man could not have gotten into our country so easily. I will be truly amazed if you ever see him in court. |

A state report quietly released last spring shows illegal immigrants made up the largest single group of those giving birth at taxpayer expense in the state and in San Diego County in 2004. The May report, "Medi-Cal Funded Deliveries," states that of the 14,350 taxpayer-funded births in the county that year, 5,814, or 40.5 percent, were to illegal immigrants. That is an 18 percent increase over the 4,916 Medi-Cal-funded deliveries to illegal immigrants in San Diego County in 2001, as shown in an earlier state report.

Despite this grave threat to national security the President and Congress refuse to secure American borders and continue to allow illicit drugs to pour through our borders.

- Government won't pay all of immigrant jail costs
Oklahoma County will collect more than 622-thousand dollars from the federal government for holding 561 prisoners for the U.S. Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement last year. But hundreds of other immigrants entered the county jail on state or local criminal charges last year, leaving the county with primary responsibility. Oklahoma cities and counties with large numbers of illegal immigrants disagree with the division of responsibility for their incarceration.

Easton police have charged an illegal immigrant with attempted homicide. Juan Carlos Benevidas-Yanes of El Salvador is charged with a Saturday night attack on Miguel Hernandez behind a building in the 600 block of Northampton Street. Police say the victim was struck in the head with a brick or similar object causing life-threatening injuries.

WAILUKU – When a man grabbed and dragged a woman as she walked on a Lahaina street, her “worst nightmare” came true, a deputy prosecutor said. “She can no longer walk on the streets, whether it’s daytime or nighttime, without looking over her shoulder,” said Deputy Prosecutor Robert Rivera. “Her entire life has changed because of the actions of a person who’s illegal, who’s intoxicated and who intended to cause her harm.” On Wednesday, Jorge Alberto Lobos-Aquil was sentenced to a 10-year prison term for abducting the woman on June 25 while she was walking on Front Street. Lobos-Aquil, a 28-year-old native of Guatemala, had pleaded no contest to kidnapping and first-degree forgery for fake immigration documents he had when he was arrested. The prosecution dismissed a charge of attempted first-degree sexual assault in exchange for his pleas.

A manipulative rapist preyed on women by posing as a law-enforcement officer, complete with an identification card, a two-way radio and a notebook, prosecutors said. Eric McCoy, 37, was ordered held without bail Friday on charges that he raped two young women in Queens in the last five weeks, and also tried unsuccessfully to lure a 15-year-old girl. District Attorney Richard Brown said McCoy intimidated his victims by impersonating a police officer, then threatened to arrest or even shoot the women if they refused his demands for sex. - (Newsroom) - (crime) 
Keith A. Lee didn't have to bring the gun to the 12th Avenue apartment. He didn't have to make threats and he didn't have to pull the trigger. But Lee did, said the judge who handed down a sentence that means the murderer will be 79 years old before he is released from prison. Circuit Court Judge Barbara Hart Key sentenced Lee, 24, to 55 years in prison followed by 20 years of extended supervision for the shooting death of Joshua Meyers. - (Newsroom) - (crime) - (Black-on-white) 
You can now take a look at the men that police say brutally attacked a pastor last week. (See Springfield Pastor Beaten and Tortured.) Springfield police released these pictures. Take a look at Eugene Howard III and Chris Thomas. Both have been arrested and charged with armed robbery, kidnapping, burglary and aggravated assault. All of these charges are in connection to the beating of Pastor Ralph Davis at his Springfield gospel radio station. Police say a 33-year-old Worcester man met a local girl on the MySpace.com Web site a year ago when she was just 14 and twice had sex with her after buying her gifts and taking her to the movies. Richard Acquaye, a married father with four children, wept as he pleaded innocent Friday in Attleboro District Court to charges of statutory rape, rape of a child by force, indecent assault and battery and enticing a person for the purposes of sexual intercourse. The judge ordered Acquaye, a native of Ghana in West Africa and a U.S. citizen, held in jail on $50,000 cash bail after hearing bail arguments. AUGUSTA, Ga.---Officers say a 15-year-old Glenn Hills High School student was raped by another student in broad daylight yesterday afternoon. The alleged rape took place sometime during the lunch hour at school. Just a few feet away from the gym at Glenn Hills High School is a portion of an unfenced area leading into the nearby woods that gives anyone easy access to hide. It's where a 15-year-old female freshman alleges 16-year-old fellow student Delonte Kitchings raped her. - (Newsroom) - (crime) 
A woman who says she thought she was helping two other women get home from a bar this week was dragged across southeast Lexington, robbed and raped, police said. A Lexington man turned himself in to authorities yesterday to face charges of kidnapping, rape and sodomy in the alleged attack. Both women are black. One was described as light-skinned with shoulder-length, curly hair, 30 to 35 years old, 5-foot-5 and weighing between 185 and 200 pounds. RENO, Nev. -- A convicted murderer accused of killing 12 people and injuring dozens in a hotel fire pleaded not guilty Friday to arson and multiple counts of first-degree murder. Valerie Moore entered the pleas three weeks before prosecutors are scheduled to tell the court whether they will seek the death penalty. All 12 victims died of asphyxiation from smoke and soot, investigators said, and another 31 people were injured. Moore, 47, was paroled in 2005 after serving 17 years in prison for second-degree murder. City school sentry is accused of sexually abusing a young male student. 34 year old Andre Johnson was arrested. Court papers show Johnson knew the victim and his family very well. According to court papers, Johnson got so close to the victim and his family over the last 9 years, he became the victim's godfather. He worked as a sentry at the former James Madison School . Documents say the first sex abuse encounter with his victim happened in 1999 at Johnson’s home near Fredrick Douglass School and the devient homo abuse continued through 2005. - (Newsroom) - (crime)
