Mass murderer Seeks Death Row Appeal
George Emil BanksThe fate of a Wilkes-Barre man, convicted in 1983 of killing 13 mostly White people, including five of his own (interracial) children, now rests with the state Supreme Court. George Banks, 62, filed a motion for a stay of execution with the court Monday, claiming his mental incompetence legally bars the state from executing him. He is scheduled to die by lethal injection at 7 p.m. tomorrow.

Living in a predominately white neighborhood and being involved in a series of interracial relationships brought its own share of problems to Banks’ home.  Banks claimed that his white neighbors “intimidated the women and called the children African niggers.”  His home was once firebombed.  - (Smilin' Jack)

Terrell Yarbrough
The Ohio Supreme Court on Wednesday overturned a man's death sentence and murder conviction in the execution-style shootings of two White college students, Brian Muha and Aaron Land, saying the case should have been tried in Pennsylvania where they were killed. The court ruled unanimously that Terrell Yarbrough was wrongly tried in Ohio for aggravated murder of the students from Franciscan University in Steubenville.

Chai Vang was charged with six counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder. Wisconsin does not have a death penalty. The criminal complaint said the hunters managed to shoot back once or twice after the Nov. 21 confrontation with the Hmong immigrant about trespassing on private land. Two survivors told investigators that no one in their group pointed a gun at Vang before he opened fire, according to the complaint. Four victims were shot in the back.  - (forum)

New Jersey Gov. Jim McGreevey promised a full investigation into the shocking discovery of four severely malnourished boys.   The boys' adoptive parents, Vanessa Jackson, 48, and Raymond Jackson, 50, of Collingswood, N.J., were arrested and held on four counts of aggravated assault and 14 counts of child endangerment.

The oldest of the boys, 19-year-old Bruce Jackson, was just 4 feet tall and weighed just 45 pounds when he was found. Over the past five years, the couple systematically tortured their four adopted sons, ages 19, 14, 10 and 9, by nearly starving them. - (forum)
